I actually managed to scrape off the skin on my palm doing that (which might explain why I've never played any of the other games in the series).
Yeah, I think that was a common occurance. But they did fix up the controls as the series went on.
This just started happening to me last year with Halo 3 & ODST. I've been playing FPS games since Doom and it's the first time I've gotten sick playing (mostly headaches, but nausea sometimes too). Weird thing is it only happens while playing Halo. CoD, Bioshock, Prey, Descent, and third-person shooters are all OK.

Thank god they fixed it after Mario Party 1. That game responsible for 2 broken analog sticks and several injured palms.
I remember that there was one 3 on 1 event where everyone was rowing in a boat - 1 player on one side and the other 3 on the other. Everyone had to rotate the analog as fast as they could to smash the opposite side of the boat against the wall to "win" the event.
I was the unlucky bastard who had to go against 3 people. I won, but I paid for it in blood.
Come to think of it, Mario Party 1 may be the only game to ever make me bleed.

I wonder if it has to do with the framerate (as someone earlier mentioned). My friend has a similar issue with certain games, and he blames the framerate.

ghostworld: mrkekeru: [your favorite game] because it was nauseatingly bad. Actually though, the only game to inflict physical distress (blisters, not sickness) on me was Mario Party 1. e: also forgot Bayonetta, it started to irritate the skin on my middle finger from hitting R2 constantly Yes! Mario Party 1 had horrible controls. When you had to spin the analog stick around really fast, or button mash until you had no feeling in your fingers.

I couldn't think of any title to cause me any harm, but this jogged my memory some. This game caused blisters in my own, as well as all my siblings, hands. Thumbs would tire out quickly across 50 turn games as it seemed every other minigame mandated the spinning competition, so we'd use the palms of our hands to spin the stick faster. Led to many dead thumbsticks and confused looks from our mom concerning the origin of the blisters on our hands...lol.

Wolfenstein on the PSN. I've been playing games since I was a kid on the Atari and have never had an issue. Going back to playing that gave me the biggest headache and nausea feeling I've ever had. Had to turn it off. Playing current FPS games have no affect tho.

The original Doom made me dizzy, probably because of the pixelated graphics and your character constantly bouncing up and down

Lessthanjizzle played this so much when he was younger that he had a constant quarter size wound in the palms of his hands

Yea, I pretty much looked like Jesus with the stigmata.

So... do you have a scar?

Every FPS, some 3rd person perspective if it's not isometric, and games with wobbly cameras all make me motion sick and give me a migraine.
It's totally a bummer because I can't play a lot of games I'd really like to (Bioshock), but gaming is supposed to be fun, not make me sick.
yI've never gotten sick in the sense that you're talking. I remember when I went to Sam's Club for the first time with my parents they bought me a terrible game called Evergrace.
I opened it, it smelled funny. The inside of the case and the air that came out, I played it for awhile and hated it. The smell persisted. Two weeks later I hadn't been to school because I ended up with some crazy virus that caused all of these things to go wrong at once.
Two eye infections, bronchitis, migraines, flulike symptoms, fevers, and doctors didn't know what the hell happened. There was some other stuff but this was when I was twelve or so.
Mirror's Edge made me sick. I think it's the combination of very bright/contrasting colors and bouncing camera.
yes, Half-Life 2 gives me bad motion sickness.
sucks, because I love the game, but will probably never finish it.
