Looking for some suggestions of games for people who aren't really gamers but want to get into playing games. For example, my girlfriend. She loves Peggle to death, and frankly I'm getting a little sick of peggle! Besides Rock Band, what might be good? So ... simple games, that dont require mad controller skills.. PS3 / PSN, DS, PC..
Bonus points for stuff we could play together.

Anything in the Lego series. It's light puzzle solving co-op, and you can't really die/infinite lives. You just break apart and lose some points if you get touched by bad.
Also Little Big Planet. It's co-op or competitive depending on the user created levels you select. Some levels can be very difficult and some very easy. There just 2 main buttons; 'grab' and 'jump.' If you are having difficulty on a community level, just quit and try a new one.
If you have a gamecube then you should try Animal Crossing. You might also try one of the Katamari Damacy games
I'm so disappointed. I came in to the thread thinking this was about dating sims. I'm a sad panda....

Is that code for h-games?
To the OP: I got shesnrice hooked on video games with Kingdom Hearts, but that might not be an option (console wise)...and I don't think you can co-op it. -2 for that
I do second the Lego games if you can tolerate the horrendous camera issues in co-op mode in them. I hear the HP game has split screen which should solve the annoyance of the camera pull.

My girlfriend loves to sit back and watch me play Uncharted / Uncharted 2. Movie-quality gaming right there. She did that with Heavy Rain, too.
But then, she's not really actively trying to steal the game away from me to play it, so you probably need something a little different.

Dragon Quest IX for the DS
My wife really isn't too much into shooters but loved RE5, so I'd suggest that as well. The tank controls drive me nuts, but it seemed to work well for her (do one thing..or the other, no need to be an avid run and gunner).
Currently, my girlfriend is playing Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. She's really into the Lego games, and I recently got he 100 Classic Books for the DS. If she's into the collection-type games, you could try Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, or Spirit Tracks; That's what got the girlfriend into games.
For the DS, Professor Layton games are a guaranteed hit.
Try Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. You can download from PSN or get disc-based on PS2 or DS.
Mostly single-player, with only a minor competitive 2-player section though.
My girlfriend really enjoyed
Puzzle Quest
2 Player Baldur's Gate DA 2
Rock Band
GTA free roam
fl0w
Katamari
Dance Dance
Alias
She also likes driving in various games, like GTA SA, she liked to drive real slow in that and follow traffic laws. Whenever she hit a car or a pedestrian, she'd freak out and apologize to the game :)
Mine likes Red Dead Redemption. She'll watch me play the missions and then will take control and ride around the environment hunting animals and flowers. She also likes to play Lips, Geometry Wars, Chime, and Portal.
Little Big Planet, the girlfriend loves it and its pretty cheap right now
