So what happens to the seller if the value goes down during the transaction? Does he lose the extra points?

I don't see a need for this. Over time, it levels out.

I may have lost 50 pts a few times because of this, but I have also gained 50 pts a few times.

OP is trying to out do his first horrible idea with an even more horrible idea.  I can't wait to see what the next one is in a few months.

As with most things on Goozex, the key is patience and delayed gratification.

If you really don't want to buy it at 300, then just wait for it to drop to 250 before moving it from On Hold to Active. Why, you can even wait to see if it ever drops to 100, then activate it.

Of course, not all games drop to 100. But if it hasn't dropped below, say, 150 after several consecutive point changes, then that's likely the bottom for the foreseeable future, and mister, you've just found yourself a buy-low opportunity with a low chance of buyer's remorse.

Meh, seems to work fine as is. Points go up and down at different times. I think it's better if the points are decided when the trade is accepted.

I guess with the OP's logic, if a game went up in value during the transaction, the buyer would be out an extra 50 points. I wonder how he'd feel then.

So, if the transaction closed, and then the next day the value changed, would anything happen? Is there a 30 day price-match or something? 

50 points is NOT that big of a deal. Honestly, everything goes down in points eventually. I've just made peace with that. I've got about 6 games that I bought at 900-1000 points and they're hovering around 500-600...no big deal.
