acsguitar:Wait did someone really just argue that people allergic to Pot should be a reason to ban pot?
Then, what just happened was the statement was called into question, because pot can't kill anyone, under any circumstances and I obviously have never experienced anything, so my opinions are void.
So, in less than 30 seconds of searching, I found a situation where a death very nearly occurred. I suppose I could have clicked on the 2nd or 3rd link google provided to pull up an actual death, but that pot can cause anaphylactic shock, and hence death, in people allergic to it, (especially since that's a common thing in extreme allergy cases) seemed so common sense, I didn't see the need to do any further research.
As for my experiences, they're not important. What I will say, generally speaking, is like most people, I've done things I am proud of, and things that have shamed me. Someone who knows me well could probably figure out what those things are. However, since I'm not on a real intimate level with anyone around here, yes, that statement is purposely vague, as it's just simply none of anyone's concern what I have or haven't done.

It is pretty funny how many of those things have popped up since the beginning of the year. I live about a mile from Federal (23rd and Lowell-ish) and work on Broadway. Those two streets probably have the most shops in the city. I can think of 9 that are within a few miles of my house. My wife and I just laugh as we drive around and see all the new shops and their silly names and advertising. It is interesting though as it's essentially legal to buy and "consume" it here in Denver. All you need is a perscription from a doctor. And there are doctors willing to hand them out left and right. So essentially, if you want marijuana you can get it legally in Denver. I haven't seen/experienced any negatives from the shops opening. They essentially moved into a bunch of vacant store fronts that sprung up as the economy went south.
I suppose I'm indifferent about the shops. Haven't destroyed the neighboorhood or anything. And I used to see a drug deal go down every now and then at the grocery store parking lot. Haven't seen any of those since all the shops opened. Obviously that's purely anecdotal, but I'd rather people get it from a shop then for me to have to worry about drug deals happening in the parking lot.

wOO dENVER!
I'm actually right dowtown so I still see drug deals now and then. Pot shops are better then empty shops easily. Empty anything ='s invitation for crack and meth deals

@acsguitar
Yeah definitely. And I'd rather law enforcement focus on people dealing that stuff over marijuana. Law enforcement departments only have so many resources, and I think the money is better spent focusing on drugs like meth/cocaine/etc. than something like marijuana. I don't necessarily approve of smoking marjiuana, but I definitely think government resources are better spent going after people dealing/using other substances.

So I'm in a loft on the 2nd floor and the day we moved in a Saw 1 dude smoking crack in the alley and 1 dude dealing something.
So I looked up how to report drug deals and it basically said. Drug Deals are rarely dangerous to anyone but the dealer and buyer and happen so fast that the police couldn't catch them in the act.
It did say I could report a concern about frequent activity though. I might eventually put a report in.
Placing a frequent activity report couldn't hurt. Might get an extra patrol to drive by every so often, key word being "might". ;)

I was thinking of buying a fake security camera and putting it up in the alley.
Was there still discussion or just debating about who gets to shoot Kenny? If it were to be legalizied, I think it would need a bunch of clarifications (Do not smoke and drive, do not smoke in public, can only have certain amounts on you). I think it would be a great way for the government to make money, but at the same time the dealers would lose their income, and that can't be good, right? But then again these dealers are criminals and need to be jailed right next to murderers and rapists...
IMO alcohol is a worse drug than pot. I have personally done more stupid things well drunk then I have done well high. I think if the legalization does happen, it should be a slow process, to ease us in to it.
Cat in the walllll
It is moving very slowly geographically. It started in California and is starting to ripple across the country. Eventually, we'll have a hodgepodge of laws that will making crossing state lines a risky prospect for anyone with a dime bag.
Hopefully, people will just grow their own and enjoy it in the privacy of their own home.
This is a country where you can advertise beer and Viagra on television and own a nearly unlimited amount of small arms. I think we can handle a little cannabis.

Advertising prescription drugs is so scummy IMO.
For the record, this is a hot topic, and should be discussed openly and honestly. I don't take any comments personally and hope the same is true for everyone else. California leads the way for this country in many aspects of gov. and life. So it's coming best to talk about it now, than later IMO.
Black Fox Zulu: kyle123kyl:No, your argument and others are relevant, but to a degree. Sure observations are great, but you can't see it from the others view that have actually tried it. Would you believe someone who told you eating a banana will make you do crazy and violent things if they haven't even eaten one themselves, but everyone around you that has eaten a banana tells you otherwise? Maybe so, However, I feel that someone who hasn't smoked can in some cases have a more valid point then those who do. Why? Its objective and (in some cases, not all) unbiased. Just because someone who has smoked says "its cool, there is nothing to worry about" doesn't make it so. To use an analogy, thats like and alcoholic saying the same thing. Would you trust an alcoholic defending alcohol? But, Like I've mentioned in an earlier post, I used to be a heavy pot user. I will now tell my personal tale of how marijuana affected my life. I did not smoke weed in high school. I was introduced to in in college by my friend and roommate. At first I only smoked very casually at party's and the like, and saw no harm in indulging every now and then. My problem became the fact that weed was so readily available to me. My roommate had an almost constant supply it seemed, and since we were close, had no problem with providing me with a steady supply. This went on for a year and a half. I steadily grew from a casual party smoker into a few times a week smoker, then into a daily smoker. I started missing class because I was too busy smoking to care. At first, I thought, "eh, I can miss a couple classes this day" But soon it turned into not going at all. I wound up dropping out because of missing class. I was depressed, angry and ashamed of myself. I guess in a sense, you could say weed helped me get back on track. After ditching it, I completely turned my life around. I'm now engaged to a beautiful wonderful woman, own a house and manage a successful business. I'll never forget how low I was when I smoked weed. It was a rock bottom time for me. I realize that personal experiences differ wildly for everyone when it comes to a drug. But I think everyone needs to understand exactly that. Just because you had a good experience with marijuana doesn't mean the person smoking next you didn't have their life ruined. Please remember this when debating the finer points of this drug. Many people have been personally affected by it in varying degrees and circumstances.

Though you do have a point with an alcoholic defending alcohol, what if a moderate drinker was defending it? That's the same thing with weed. If a pothead was defending it probably no one would listen, but say someone who smokes occasionally is defending it, you would probably be more prone to listen to him then someone who hasn't even tried it but is against it. Same thing with you, I listen to you more than some of the other members against it because you've experienced it and have backing on why it is bad for you. Not just some illogical explanation on why it will ruin your life.
Even though Im for marijuana I'm not necessarily for legalizing it, I don't think everyones ready for that step yet. I highly support decriminalization of it though, like killmak stated earlier. We should probably start with decriminalization and move on from there, maybe eventually leading to legalization.

I think just about everyone who has voiced an opinion against it has some experience with it, first hand, so shouldn't you be respecting just about everyone's view?

I actually do respect everyone's views on the subject, I never said I didn't. I know most everyone has had experience with it, but also most everyone has not tried it. Therefore SOME of what they say I don't take into consideration. I'll use what you have gone through as an example (sorry if I'm out of line here) situations like those will make me respect your opinions more then say ordinary joe were it hasn't been a problem in his life, but he heard from the news that he shouldn't do it so now he's completely against it.
