I am looking for a data transfer kit someone would like to lend to me when Halo Reach comes out. Sadly I am in need of my 4th or 5th Xbox now, thanks to E73, and my warranty (still nothing to do with RROD) is long gone. For now I am able to do a quick fix, but eventually it will stop working.

With that sexy silver Halo Xbox coming out now is the perfect time to upgrade. But I am in need of a Data transfer kit and feel like $20 is too much. Not to mention having 120 gigs almost maxed, flash drives might take to long.

If anyone is willing to let me borrow theirs around then I would gladly pay for shipping! Anyways just thought I would give it a try.

If you have a good wifi connection and som epatience, you could transfer all the licenses through this website.

http://www.xbox.com/en-us/support/systemuse/xbox360/licensemigration/default.htm

If you have a usb drive of 16 GB or less you can use that to make the transfer quicker.

Thanks to a fellow goozer for recommending this to me.  It's what I did!

A license transfer will not move game saves and DLC from one hard drive to another.

You cannot transfer licenses with a flash drive.

You are right but you can redownload your DLC after a license transfer so you dont have to move them.  And moving game saves is pretty easy.  It is easier to use the transfer cable but I have done it both ways and both ways work fine.

I did a transfer using the kit, from gamestop of course, and did the license transfer online through the site.  Still had to redownload over 2 gigs of rock band DLC though to get it to show up on all accounts on my xbox.

I believe I have an extra one hanging around somewhere. I'll see if I can locate it for you. Best of luck with your new xbox!

I will be doing a license transfer but all that does is make it so you can play your DLC offline, and game share.

Thx DH, no need to be in a hurry I still have a couple months. Hopefully my Xbox survives till then!

They sell them at the store now. They are $19.99.

I understand when people needed to ask for these when they were not readily available, but trolling for one because you are too cheap is kind of sad. Go to CAG for that crap. Locking thread.
