I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this question but I didn't know where else to post it. Anyway, my cousin and I were wondering if you're able to gameshare EA Sports Online Pass. I doubt it but thought I'd ask anyway. I couldn't really find a good answer to my question on Google.

Pretty sure it would be tied to your EA account, sooooo, probably not.

Well wouldn't that mean that any of the other profiles on my PS3 couldn't play online? So if I were to activate the Online Pass to my PSN account, that means that my brothers can't play online on their own profiles? That just does not make any sense to me because I'm not going to buy the Online Pass two more times at $10 each lol.

From what I have read is the online pass is tied to your profile which means only you can use it.  Thats EA for you screwing over their customers.

It's not tied to the console?

If it isn't, I'd write EA and see if there is something that can be done.

edit:

killmak - is it tied to your EA Account?  I'd be more than pissed if shesnrice actually played online games, but that just seems wrong.

Looking into it a little further it seems like it might be tied to your account and console which means for xbox anyone using that console can play online and that gamertag can play online anywhere as well.  As for the PS3 it is tied to gamertag/console which means other members using that console can play online.  Also it looks like it can be gameshared.

Well I guess I'll just wait until Madden comes out and try it then. I really wish 2K could make an NFL game (I know they can't because EA bought the license). I'd definitely be playing that instead of Madden.

Official answer from EA here:

One code per console (on the 360 at least).

Thanks but the Xbox does not allow gamesharing, right? So I'm still not positive that you can or can't gameshare it.

No it doesn't. How it works on the 360 is that anything you download can be used by anyone, on or off line, on the console it was originally downloaded to (or any console that the license is transferred to, which you can only do once per year) or on any console with the purchasing gamertag logged into live.  I'm aware that this doesn't actually help you, but you asked (sort of), so I answered. My guess, and it would be just that, is that it will work for any profile on the activated ps3, but can not be gameshared. Just a guess, but this is EA we're talking about, and you'll be lucky if it can actually be used by others on the original console.

Since when is gamesharing of any type a legit topic of discussion on the Goozex forums?
