Who is Kinect for?  Families who want motion control either already have a Wii or will buy one instead of Kinect.   The $150 price point is crazy for something without buttons or a trigger.  Im only  spending $50 on the Move to turn my living room into a free driving range with Tiger Woods 11.  i already own the PS3 Eye for MP mic and video conference, as do most of my friends.

I might have bought the Kinect if they did a Slim 360(250Gb), Kinect, & Dane Central(Maybe $399). I woun't buy this for $150 with that crap (Wii games delux) Kinect adventures. Sadly Microsoft fails to learn from Nintendo. Nintendo added Wii motion+ into its new Wii systems (for $199) MS should have just learned that if they want to get Kinects into the market and to the consumers homes they should have just put together that bundle deal I said above and ate the loss on it. Now how can they compete with Nintendo( Wii, MotionPlus,Wii Sports, & Wii Sports Resort) for only $200 bucks.

They've already eaten so many losses i'm pretty sure they still aren't profitable. Also wii motion plus is a total scam. I like how people buy the consoles then they say "well the hardware wasn't quite finshed so here you go. buy the finished version for extra. well.......finished for now."

I thought $100 was INSANE for the wii balance board, but everyone I know who has a wii went out and bought one. How many games use that? None of the people who have a balance board went out and bought extra games for it...

I suspect it'll be the same for the kinect. I'm interested in one, but not at $150. Maybe for a xmas present. Whenever it drops to $100 I'll probably pick one up. It's cheaper than buying a whole wii system.

The only thing I like about the move is that it might make console FPS's bareable. Do you really need the cam though? I thought you needed just the "SonyMote" and "SonyChuk"

The majority of console FPS's have been perfectly fine in terms of controls ever since Halo.  Could even be said they've been fine since Perfect Dark or GoldenEye.  If anything, FPS motion controls are worse than a gamepad (ex. Red Steel, The Conduit) until developers can figure out how to make motion controls work well. That said, mouse and keyboard will always be superior.

As for Kinect/Move/Wii.  Zero interest in any of them.  All those do is support shovelware guaranteed to sell.  Hence the phrase for most OK games developed outside of Nintendo - "It's pretty good, for a Wii game."  I'll be converted when you show me a fantastic, incredible, must play game that would never work with a standard controller or a mouse and keyboard.

Really?!? GoldenEye's controls are terrible compared to the dual joystick controls we have now! You might want to go play the game again. Now I don't blame the game over the crappy N64 controller. But to say they were perfectly fine since GoldenEye, not so much.

I am still waiting for a better bundle with the new 360 since mine is on the verge of breaking. Give me 250gigs Microsoft and Kinect for $350.

Note that I took out the "perfectly" when I mentioned GoldenEye.  They worked fine.

Have you tried to go back and play it. They are pretty terrible and feel clunky. They were fine at the time but for surely needed an overhaul.  I do agree though that games like Wii Fit, Workout, and Dance games can work well with motion controls but shooters can wait till we get full VR in our houses.

I would be interested, if I weren't already having to pay someone to fix my 360 from the RRoD.  Maybe they should have been more focused on fixing that problem rather than adding a new piece of hardware that will ultimately fail.  Actually, maybe a $50 price point w/ a game could get me to bite just for the novelty.  Otherwise, I have all the minigame-filled shovelware that I could ever possibly need thanks to my Wii, and those games aren't $60 each.

Is it cool?  Absolutely.  But it's all about software.  At E3 I did not see one game that really impressed me.  Or even impressed me a little.  The whole Milo thing was pretty awesome, but that wasn't at E3 and it's not really a game...

Pre-E3 this was a must buy at any price.  Now, it's a "Will buy in a year or two after the games flesh out".  Or rather, "If" the games flesh out.

/As far as games, Move, which I thought was a distant 4th place pre E3.  4th behind the wii, kinect and not buying it at all.  Suddenly seems like a likely buy.

At least the Wii will have a friend to collect dust with for all those that are purchased...

Couldn't be too expensive. It's the fifth best-selling video game product on Amazon, and the third best 360 product.

Furthermore, psmove is also available for preorder, but that hasn't even cracked the top 25...

Makes sense. We have a ton of people interested in/asking about the Kinect. Maybe one person per week asks about Move.
