Hexpane:
The Claw gauntlet is just embarrassing :(

And pulled straight out of generic JRPG #126.  Which I've played.

Man that main character artwork is horrible. His face looks like an angry gnome, not even human looking
Oh my and a nice HAWKE nose Pizza He is so damn UGLY aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

The article/review was very interesting. supposedly your game from DAO will be used for this one also. It will be using the ending you had. Give this a read ..using you saved data no matter what console/pc you played on. should be interesting

Did anyone check out the new trailer? It's all cinematic tomfoolery, but I thought it was pretty neat.

It looks prettier if you just go to youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xx0pU-B_yA

Is it just me or does it seem that Hawke uses blood magic? If so, that probably gives the opportunity to build a very interesting character, considering their pariah status in the DA universe. Then again, knowing Bioware, 90% chance that this is just one of many possible builds.

Well I'm back to being excited about DA2 now.

Confirmed

  • retaining strategic combat for all platforms, but basic combat has been made more "action-y" but NOT enemy juggling FF13/God of War - thank you!
  • Full party control, you can control any character, again not like ME2 - YES!
  • Inventory is NOT being removed like ME2 - YES!
  • Leveling up has not been dumbed down like ME2 "mission rank" screen.  Full SKILL TREES!  YES
  • Romance remains

I am hopeful this will turn out well -  we know the camera angle doesn't pull up as far, and that it will still essentially be a RTwP core game, but if you recall folks complained about KotOR being more 'action-y' than NWN ...

Definitely looking forward to it. I think I'm going with the PC version this time around.

Just to bump this back up here...

After playing the demo, I'm a lot more excited for this. It's not dumbed down to the point of ME2, and pretty much the only thing that I don't like about it is the visual design of the average Darkspawn. All the characters look fine, but the Hurlocks and whatnot look like plastic or something.

So yeah, March 8th!

I played the demo... a hybrid hack-n-slash, Bioware. Really? Felt like I was playing one of those stupid feudal Japan fantasy hack-n-slashes with 48 iterations. It's a button masher now. *Sigh* At least I have Elder Scrolls to look forward to.

I still have Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition to play through before I even consider DA2, but I'm disappointed I missed out on the pre-order upgrade by a day Huh? (I ended up pre-ordering Ar Tonelico: Qoga instead)

I'm really curious to see if the ME2'd it.

I only started playing DAO recently, got the ultimate edition for Christmas, and I was more excited for the sequel before I played the demo. There is still a lot of complexity to the game as in the first but the combat felt a bit like a brawler to me. But in a brawler the combat is more than just tapping the same button, you can time hits, combine attacks, jump, there is just a lot more. I'm not sure why they only added the tap tap tap on one button and then you'll do your basic attack. Maybe you can tell them to do this on their own and I just didn't realize.

Was feeling this was a Goozex game before and still feeling that way now. (rather than a buy)

I might have to check out the demo, but hitting a single button to do attacks isn't always a bad thing.  Take the combat system from Magna Carta 2, that is one of the best combat systems in a 360 RPG that I've ever played.  Sure you have a button for a "special" attack and you chain attacks with other party members, but it's definitely an example of a combat system done right.  I might be way off base and Bioware have Fable'd the combat system Smile
