What of all the unsung casualties of the new box?

For example, my Deathsmiles preorder was instantly canceled.  Only reason I was getting it was for the pimp faceplate, which is now worthless to me.

What?  Just slap some glue (or tape) on it and you're as good as gold.

@ derekjr - You can either use a transfer kit ($20) or pick up a USB thumb drive up to a maximum capacity of 16GB.

Have we confirmed that the licenses will transfer correctly without the official transfer?

I'm hopping so.  I bought a 16 gig flash drive last week as I have no hard drive space (I have the 20 gig)

I'd think the official kit would work.  You might be able to call MS and tell them you bought a new 360 and need the licenses switched.

I wanted a DS for the longest time and when I finally got a DS Lite I maybe used it for 15 hours...two years ago.  I use my PSP less, so I'm going to avoid anything that is a handheld (except possibly the DS XL)  I'm currently working on trying to convince the Mrs. that trading in one of our old 360's towards the new model is the way to go.  If it we didn't have to replace our roof I'd have one already.

I have been using my DS at lunch at work so having the 3DS would be great.  Plus I can rub it in my kids faces that I have a cool new toy that they can't play with. Does that make me bad?

On the other side of the coin... I would get more game time at home with a second 360 as the kids can use the 360 upstairs (on the 27 inch tv).

In all seriousness though I thought the big three had learned by now that gloss sucks. Matte finish may not be as sexy but it's better than looking like a glass case at Walmart. I can just imagine how OCD I'm going to be about cleaning the little eject button.

I bit on this. The gift card got me a play and charge kit and a 16GB flash drive. Now to get it all shipped.

They even made it RROD proof.  Really....

They actually removed the red lights from it's ring of light.  Apparently the new 360s will now blink green when there's a hardware failure.

For the love of....It's like a friggin' traffic light now: blinking red, blinking yellow, blinking green. 

One thing it does make me wonder, since they removed the red light and it can't RROD (though E74 may be possible) does the 3 year RROD replacement still extend to GBROD?

I'm sure Sony would have appreciated it or maybe they wouldn't if it would hurt PS3 sales.  Including something other than the DVD drive would just be an acknowledgment from MS that they screwed the pooch backing HD-DVD.  I don't see leaving bluray out as a bad thing.

I would LOVE if they had included blu-ray on the new console.  However, I'm not surprised at all that they didn't.  But, maybe they would sell an extra blu-ray attachment like they did back in the day with the HD-DVD player.  But still I doubt they would do that.
