Remember kids, its only bad if MS does it.  Sony is A-OK.

Who's Xbox has 2? My Xbox has 3 usb ports. Two in the front one in the back whats the big deal in adding another?

Ignore Kenny, he'd only support the 360 slim if they removed USB ports.

and added PS3/Bluray compatibility while removing the ability to play 360 games.

I cant agree anymore, people who are buying this that already has a working 360 is completely waisting $300. "oh but wait i can just sell my 360", someone will say that, but i highly doubt you can sell your 360 itself and get $300 for it. All they did was make it look shiny and add wifi, woohooo thats amazing isnt it. omg.   i personally have the newest model with the jasper fans and that new chip. theres is nothing wrong with mine. I asure theres going to be something wrong with the new 360 slimmer console. when someone gets RROD and and says"ahh i wasted $300" all im gonna say is told ya so. Microsoft is greedy, but i do love them and i am not trying to bash them. I personally can but it now, but dont want to.

I understand the memory card thing, but does the new xbox have slots for them?

And to the above topic, my xbox and PS3 are on the same TV downstairs.  With 4 people in the family that like to game, it makes it hard to get time on the consoles.  Getting a new 360 (even though my onld one still works) and moving the old one upstaris so the kids can play viva pinata there frees up the downstairs consoles for my wife and I to use.

You're confusing what is worth it to other people with what is worth it in your specific situation.

Although I won't be buying a new one, someone in my position with a launch system and a 20GB hard drive can certainly see why you'd want to spend $300 (minus selling your old system) for a 250GB hard drive, new warranty, smaller footprint, and lower power draw.

I really want to buy one, I honestly do, but I went through the entire lists of MS exclusives to place on my watch lists and came up with about a dozen games I want to play.  Given I already have a PS3 (80 GB bw), WIi, & DSI,  I cannot justify spending the money just to buy in to the opportunity to play these games.  I have a big enough backlog as it is and not enough hours in the day to play.

However, the system design is finally ideal.  Large hard drive, smaller components, overheating and software issues addressed, plenty of ports to expand, wifi & HDMI ready.  Had this been the G1 or G2 model this would have kicked everyone's ass, no question.  As it is, it is a nice re-design but it's not the right time for me.     If you get it, I am sure you'll enjoy it.

@ derekjr - You can either use a transfer kit ($20) or pick up a USB thumb drive up to a maximum capacity of 16GB.

Have we confirmed that the licenses will transfer correctly without the official transfer?

I'm hopping so.  I bought a 16 gig flash drive last week as I have no hard drive space (I have the 20 gig)

I'd think the official kit would work.  You might be able to call MS and tell them you bought a new 360 and need the licenses switched.

The new redesign is really nothing special, but keep in mind, stores are knocking $50 off the existing 360 skus and bundles to make room for the new one.  Functionally, the consoles are identical, so this would be a good time to get a cheap 360.  I'm considering a $125 Arcade with a $90 250gb HDD myself.

That is better.  I never remember how to make it actually link the address, and I don't feel like looking it up.  Besides, I can just post random web addresses, and Cheez will come through afterwards and link 'em up.  Wink

What of all the unsung casualties of the new box?

For example, my Deathsmiles preorder was instantly canceled.  Only reason I was getting it was for the pimp faceplate, which is now worthless to me.
