Maybe I can get a cheap backup Elite or something with all the used ones sure to fill the market here soon.

I'm sure a lot people are looking to do the same thing. I came across something yesterday saying the gamestop was going to be reducing the trade in value on Xbox 360's. Don't know if it's true or not but If that's the case I might be out of luck....

 

wouldn't be surprised reduce it and offer an incentive "bonus" if you trade in towards a new system why almost negates the reduction

I mentioned the new 360 to my wife last night and she surprisingly said.  "That's awesome.  How much"  I said "$299" and left it at that as there was no way that was going to happen.

she responded, "maybe we can get it and move the old one upstairs for the kids"....  I love my wife!

So, how would I transfer the kids save files?

3.  I'd say the other explanation is a bit more practical, what with all those accessories that could be utilized, but with my PS3's 4, I tend to just put away what I'm not using, so even that felt a bit much to me.  2 is working just fine so far with my 360, though I suppose there's no reason NOT to have a ton of USB, I just didn't see it as a selling point.

Who's Xbox has 2? My Xbox has 3 usb ports. Two in the front one in the back whats the big deal in adding another? Who know maybe they are planning more periphs like perhaps a Blu-Ray device like the HDD drive? Maybe Maybe-not who knows? Also, do people complain about everything? They give you more and people complain heck when the PS3 knocked down the USBs for the slim I recall a lot of complaints and now I'm seeing the reverse. If they are giving more in a smaller package why is that bad?

I do state 2+1 somewhere in all this 360 banter, but only two are readily accessible.  The one in the rear is always filled with the wifi adapter, and, given it's proximity to the 10/100 jack, figured that was it's purpose.  I suppose you could plug your controller in there or some such, but the 2 up front are all I can use with the adapter in place, and all I consider when thinking of my accessories.

That said, where are all these additional ports going?  Back, front panel, SIDE?!

Get a memory card and transfer them that way. And, if you all want to play as a family on one console you can just throw your profiles on the card and plug in when you need to. It comes in handy.

Ahhh, I see. Yeah it actually works with everything. I plugged my HD-DVD Drive into it (What a waste of money that was), and I like to Hard Plug my xbox into the modem anyway because you get a far better connection. I'm personally not really into this new system, because why am I going to keep shelling out money to these consoles when eventually a new one will inevitably come out. It really doesn't add so much. Also, I pay for my warranty renewal with Microsoft so it never runs out, because that stupid RROD. I personally don't see the point it's just a bigger hard drive which mine is expandable to that says anyway. Built in WiFi I already have a wifi port and it's wireless N compatible but I'm not about to go get a new router just for an xbox. It shiny, whatever. I really don't see the point I've been using this style xbox since '06 I did sell it once so I could get the Arcade with the Jasper processor and just kept all my periphs. It's just a way for them to make more money, and primarily to steal away from the Market share that Sony was gaining with the slim. It's just silly.

I cant agree anymore, people who are buying this that already has a working 360 is completely waisting $300. "oh but wait i can just sell my 360", someone will say that, but i highly doubt you can sell your 360 itself and get $300 for it. All they did was make it look shiny and add wifi, woohooo thats amazing isnt it. omg.   i personally have the newest model with the jasper fans and that new chip. theres is nothing wrong with mine. I asure theres going to be something wrong with the new 360 slimmer console. when someone gets RROD and and says"ahh i wasted $300" all im gonna say is told ya so. Microsoft is greedy, but i do love them and i am not trying to bash them. I personally can but it now, but dont want to.

How is MS greedy when all they are doing is what Sony did with extra parts? A couple extra USB ports, Kinect ready (meaning you don't need the extra plugin), and the 250gig hard drive, and wifi N? Seems to me like a better business move and consumers are getting a better package.

Even though I won't get one unless my current one craps out or it's bundled with Kinect. I don't see MS being greedy over the fact that they are bringing out a better console. Are you saying MS had this idea when they first brought out the 360?
