They have instructional videos for that

Best way to get a deal in GS is to snipe.
If you're incredibly bored and have the time to spare grab some cash, drive to one of the strip store GS in a busy area and wait for the petty thieves to come in. They'll have a bunch of games that are literally brand new and GS will give them $5-$20 a pop, offer a bit more and they're yours, no question asked. The GS employees will hate you but as long as you step outside you're free to go.
That's the only way to get decent used sales and if they store is busy you can usually offer other customers your own games for decent amounts. Unless you can find a way to totally rape the system standard GS trades are an utter rip off that give their company at least a 300% profit. They don't care that you lose out. :^(

The system might not be the only thing 'raped' if you keep approaching strangers like that.
You, sir, need some assistance on proper bargain hunting:

I dont go to Gamestop for anything. Ever. Especially not their trade-ins.
But today I got my SC2 beta key so they're not that bad. Until they rip me off again that is.
I'll occasionally buy old used games from Gamestop. Last week I picked of Etrian Odyssey full package for $10. I thought that was a pretty good deal. I'll also buy new stuff there at times if I'm impatient and don't want to wait for something to come in the mail.

LOL ROTF -- I'm dying bro. I'm a pretty big dude (as in muscular); so, whenever I approach people they typically get the impression that I'm somewhat intimidating. I can just picture myself standing over the counter walking up to some 16 year old kid, like pssst, aye you, over here... I doubt the GS people would say a word.
when you do this, can i come??? i would pay to see this show

I'm a woman so I can walk up and offer easily, but I don't bother since I use CAG, no worries about my deal finding skills. ;p
I'm just saying, if people are still depending on GS to get their deals the only good deal they'll get is to buy stuff off the people who trade in at GS. Those people tend to be petty thieves or college kids who can't afford rent and need the money right that second. And believe me, the people going for cash are outraged by the prices GS offers, you could be the Hulk offering them $25 for Battlefield: BC2 and they would still be interested because GS offers them $20 credit or $16 for cash. Half of the customers will turn around and offer the stuff to other customers themselves. The strip mall stores get the most of these sorts of trades so that's your best bet. Sometimes, if you whine enough, GS employees will make you a cash offer better than GS trade values, but that's iffy.
I walked into a store once where this woman who was pissed off at her former fiancé was haggling with the employees. She wanted to sell the brand new XBOX 360 she had bought him and she didn't care how much, in fact she wanted to sell it cheap to rub it in his face. I gave her $50 for a Pro, at the time $299.99. It was still sealed. Lovely. Still use it to this day, when you come in at the right times sniping at GS can be a glorious experience.
If I ever feel like doing it again meaningawaits, I'll bring you with me in spirit. ;o

Beautiful. I'm glad you could help that lady out. Wish I could meet more women with gaming gear looking to spite their ex's.

I worked at GS about a year ago. Lots of people traded in multiple copies of the same game they stole from wherever that were either still wrapped or obviously just opened. To this day, the best excuse a guy gave me for why he had 2 copies of 20 different games was that he "liked to play online."
Yeah...what? You have two brand new copies of Star Ocean: The Last Hope because you use one to play online and the other to...what?
Yeah, my copy of Star Ocean was $15 the first day it came out. Huzzah.
I've told every GS employee I know about Goozex and they cannot believe such a system works. Employees themselves will tell you that GS trades suck. They really do their utmost as employees to give you the highest trade value possible because it boosts their numbers but the highest trade values still suck. Best trade deal is when they do the trade in three and get $10. But that was only good with old PS2 games, they don't let you do PS2 with that trade deal. You could buy three copies of Madden 2003 @ $.99 a pop and trade them in for like $10.30. Good technique. ;D
I traded games in well knowing I was going to get next to nothing back, sometimes I'd be surprised and get $5 or $10 for games I expected to get less than nothing for, but other times I'd be lucky if I got over $1.50. I'd always end up holding a few games back tho, I mean seriously they only wanted to give me $14 for Blazeblu and basically told me to throw the SE content out because they don't accept them. Their trade in offers are a joke most of the time too, their 50% extra on everything wasn't entirely true (I noticed a few games getting a little less), but don't bother arguing with them because it their "computers fault".
Then a buddy of mine kept on telling me about Goozex after discovering it, at first I didn't listen to him because it sounded too good to be true, then I checked the site out after hearing Retro games were available and had more than a few things that were going for almost ( and sometimes more) what I originally paid for them. I also liked seeing that everything goes for at least 100 points, so ever the most "worthless" games will go for at least $5 on here, which is far more than what Gamestop would ever give for most older titles.
Will i continue to shop at Gamestop? Of course, especially since I can take advantage of them clearing out PS2 and Gamecube games, but not sure how often I will stop there after those are gone.
Needless to say, I am very happy with Goozex, it beats anything that's out there at the moment and I doubt anything could top this service any time soon.
