Clash Of The Titans

2010 Remake

I saw this movie in 2d which is supposedly better due to glitchy and faulty conversion into the 3d format. The movie left me wanting more of something, but not anymore of the actual movie. This movie was only 80 minutes long, and it should have been much longer. This could have been great as an Action epic, in the vein of Lord Of The Rings and the like. But then again i do not think i could have taken 3 hours of that film..

I'll go through the pros, the cons, and then the final score and verdict.

Pros: Sam Worthington can really play a badass well, but thats about all he can play. The effects are above average, yet few and far between. And there are a few laughs in the film.

Cons: The action was too tame. Most acting was either poor or not casted correctly, Liam Neilson cannot be Zeus. The whole film leads up to his Encounter with the Krakken, and it only lasts a few minutes and is nothing impressive. Some effects are good, some aren't that great, leaving an average experience. I left this film with a bad taste in my mouth, I like to think about what it could have been, i find it much more entertaining..

Rating: 4.4

Kept my attention for a little bit. Had a good premise, yet executed poorly. Poor acting by all except for Sam "Type Cast" Worthington, Too short, too tame. Meant more for the whole family than the action epic it could have been. I need to start lowering my expectations..

Did you know Hellen Keller had a tree house?...neither did she.

Wasn't a fan of Evil Dead.

Can't wait to see what you say about Fantastic Mr. Fox. I loved that movie.

clh3785:

The movie Valkyrie starring Tom Cruise was; in my opinion, just like the films attempt at Adolf Hitlers assassination, a failure. This films trailers and advertisements portrayed it to be one of the more action packed films of the year, when in reality it was the complete opposite. The only scene containing action or enough suspense to keep you interested is the opening title scene.

If a movie does not contain any true action, comedy, or horror it must contain good acting and direction in order to keep the audiences attention. Valkyrie lacked greatly in each of these departments. For instance, how could a movie about German Officers and ***, contain men speaking english; in perfect american and even british accents? This evident and easily avoidable problem was one that caused the movie to lose any sense of realism that it had. Atop the Tom Cruise led nosedive into mediocrity, the director, Bryan Singer should have explained more. There are many times in the movie; when a British sounding "Nazi" says one thing and then is contradicted within seconds.

The only thing this film has going for it is a suspenseful soundtrack that can add to the mood of would be suspense. This movie is recommended to be avoided unless a true History or Tom Cruise fan.

kick ass movie

That is directed by Uwe Boll.

Anything with his name on it is destined to be shit.

and to the person who said they thought valkyrie was good, thats your opinion, but as you read in the review; I thought it was pretty weak.

Im going to have to pace out some reviews, because all the movies ive watched recently ive loved. (Fantastic Mr Fox, Kickass, Etc.) so there is going to be a slew of high marks from me, but thats ok.

Lucky Number Slevin

I watched this a few weeks ago, with no expectations, and I was completely blown away. This film is in the same vein of a tarantino film. The acting is superb with a lineup of Bruce Willis, Josh Hartnett, Morgan Freeman, Ben Kignsley, and Lucy Lui. The story is honestly one of the better stories in a film in quite some time. As I did before i'll list the pros and cons:

Pros: Acting, Story, Style, Music. One good twist, Great supporting cast.

Cons: Other twists are fairly predictable, Josh Hartnett gets on my nerves at times, Confusing plot at times, but makes for an overall better story.

Overall I'd give this film a 9. Many people disagree with me, and I may have just been in a very good mood when I saw it, but I thoroughly enjoyed this film and I cant get it out of my head.

For fans of: Smokin' Aces, Gangster films, Tarantino and Guy Ritchie films, and good old fashioned twists.

Reviews Coming soon: Kick-Ass, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Splinter, Zombiez.

I take requests too, so let me know!

why is the confusing plot a con if you think it lends itself to a better story?

Pizza guys are getting worse and worse looking. I guess all the good ones went into porn.

I should have clarified better.

It confuses you while watching, which can distract you and detract from the overall experience, however once everything concludes and settles you understand it. So it makes the film confusing while its in process, and then the end wraps it up, makes it clear, and makes the story even better.

Understandable. There are plenty of movies where a confusing plot led to me losing interest and thus detracted from a movie than makes sense in the end. Doesn't mean the plot was good, just that the ending was.

The thing is, this films plot WAS good. I probably didnt give it my FULL attention, and it just seemed like some things didnt line up. But regardless. I recommend this film to everyone.
