I actually think him stating he has a PS3 and 360 is a better indication.

You're absolutely right, we should just stop trying to be helpful since it's obviously not exactly what the OP was asking for. Regardless, you knew he had a PS3 and 360 anyway, so why the unnecessary chastising?
Back on topic, you could also try Contact. It's a pretty cool game, but I personally got bored of it after a little while. Other than that, you can't go wrong with the GBA Final Fantasies, and while it's more tactical Fire Emblem is a great strategy RPG in the same vein as Advance Wars.
Also, Demon's Souls for the PS3 is awesome. Provided you understand it won't hold your hand like most games nowadays, but rather hand you your own broken and bleeding ass on a platter. Repeatedly.

For DS/GBA:
-Chrono Trigger (RPG)
-Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor (SRPG)
-Dragon Quest IV (RPG)
-Etrian Oddessy 1 or 2 (dungeon crawl, very difficult)
-Any of the Mario and Luigi games (Action RPG)
-The World Ends with You (Action RPG)
To answer everyones ? I have the 360, PS3, DS, and a PSP. I did list this under the DS and GBA area. I was looking for a good rpg for that platform since I have only 1 game for it. I'll talk all suggestions though so don't feel you have to limit yourselves to just that console. I really appreciate everybodys time and input.
Since you have a PS3 and a PSP you should get yourself some Playstation Classics like Final Fantasy VII, Symphony of the Night and both Legacy of Kain games.
On the DS front, Infinite Space looks great, but that just came out so it'll take you a while to get it off of Goozex.

My initial post regarding the matter was a tongue-in-cheek comment...you know how threads never stay on topic and then mods get ripped for "not doing their job". Perhaps the lack of emoticon lead to it's demise.

Didn't you just rip that to pieces in the FF thread?
If your going to pick up an older PSX game I say pick up FFIX and use your PS3/PSP to play it.

Ah, gotcha.

It's not that I think FFVII is terrible, I just don't think it's the best in the series and find it terribly over-rated. Aside from that, I enjoy playing it quite a bit. As for FFIX, it's not available on the PSN store yet. Which sucks because I've been anxiously waiting for it since FFVII was put up there.

I've been anxiously waiting for it since my sister lost my discs

Ouch...
Well hopefully it won't be too long since they released FFVIII a while back. Then again, Vagrant Story has been sitting on the Euro PSN store for months and they still haven't brought it to the US store... Stupid ****ing Sony.
FFTactics.... get the PSN version of the PSone classic
Best FF of all time

I bought Vagrant Story once and then, when I had the chance to play, the discs were unreadable. I would play it if it popped on the US PSN store, I heard it was all sorts of interesting and unusual and fun. As for FFIX, I google every month or so to see if there's a release date for it and I found this the other day. Woo!
A great idea would to go to the online Playstation store, buy the FF games they have available, and then transfer them on to your PSP. That's what I did, and you don't mind the old graphics as much on a handheld device. Just wish they would add FFIX.
I couldn't really get into Borderlands. Not that it's a bad game, but I don't like Diablo-esque looting and randomness. I always feel like I'm missing something. I do highly reccomend Fallout 3. A very western-style RPG with guns. Mass Effect 2 is probalbly the best, and better than ME1.
Anyways, for my own question, does anybody reccomend the Tales series, such as Tales of Vesperia? I don't know too much about it. I have Lost Odyssey, and I have Infinite Undiscovery and Last Remnant in my request list. I just felt like I needed a new JRPG and haven't played those. What do you guys think? Good games?

Hells yeah. ToV is the best in the series. I think Tales of Symphonia (NGC) is a close second. I started playing Tales of the Abyss (PS2) which is pretty solid as well. I did not like Tales of Legendia (PS2)...and I'm struggling to finish Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (Wii).
The games are turn-based action RPGs. You mainly control one person in a party of three or four. I'm not sure if ToV still has a demo on XBL but if it does, start there. The rest of them have similar battle systems.

I don't know if they'd really be called turn based. I own Vesperia but I haven't gotten to it yet so I don't know if that one's different but I've always put them in the "Action-RPG" group. Some attacks have to reload or you need to charge before use but you can hack away if you just want to get through it. The games do reward you for speed and effectiveness. If you like JRPG's and anime you'll enjoy the Tales series, they're very heavy in anime influences and the storyline can get very, very deep and interesting. Definitely a favorite series of mine, also they're unconnected with story except for Tales of Symphonia 1 & 2, extreme fans will tell you that they're linked in story but thousands of years apart but realistically the games are all individual stories to be played in whatever order you prefer.
