Thoughts on Darksiders?

well it doesn't take much to out do Dante's and yes darksiders does it hands down every day of the week and twice on sundays.  art style, graphics, and mechanics may not be cutting edge, but the game is freakin' fun to play

Just got my free copy of Red Faction today so for anyone who's been waiting I would think you'd have it shortly.  Just a heads up.

I just started playing this today, after finishing FF13.  So far, I've got to say, I'm just not enjoying it much.  I hear all this talk about it's like Zelda, and it's wonderful... and I find myself wanting to take it out and put something else in at least once every 20 minutes or so. 

I keep thinking to myself, I've got GOW3 sitting on the shelf there in Pandora's Box... and instead I'm playing this weak clone.

I find the story pretty interesting so far, but that's about it as far as what I like.

I was lukewarm through the first couple hours or so, but once I got into the "dungeon" part of the game, I really started to enjoy it.  Zelda + dismemberment works for me!

what does the Pizza sign Actually mean?

I always felt that the pizza sign was the forum enigma we didn't ask about. Like, eventually the epic wisdom of the pizza would reveal itself to the worthy user. ;o

Anyways, I finished Darksiders, it was hard to play to the end, the story is unusual but War is kind of bland and unbalanced in the way he reacts to things around him and they give you no real hints at why. Until the last hour, then everything comes together, but it was super hard persisting to the end when I just wasn't feeling the rush to a conclusion. Everything was fairly solid as games go, just hopefully there'll be another game from this studio that make a more outstanding package. As for this being the first attempt from Vigil Games as a developer I was hugely impressed, it was a great game that just needs some more polish if they attempt another. ;p

Lame final boss btw, just thought I'd throw that in.

Never mind, I just got mine in the mail today. The case was cracked and there is a huge gash in the back of the case.

I just finished this game last night, and I'll have a review up sometime in the next couple of days.  I go by a 5 star rating system, and I'm hovering between 3 1/2 and 4 stars.  Sure, it doesn't have a single NEW element, but the mix of gameplay in it is very new.  I felt the same about the plot and characters, they were a little weak, but I did enjoy the ending bit.  Overall I had fun with it and will probably trade it out now and then pick it up again later when it drops in price for a second playthrough.

That gash is there so you can not take the game to walmart and return it for full value.

My copy of RF:G just showed up today as well.  I can understand a slash in the UPC, but this looks like it was done with a hammer and chisel - nice large crack in the back of the case.

Oh well...free is free.
