Ugh. That is ridiculous. Any idea why it's like this?? So if I want a game, I don't really care about the manual but I'd still want the case. How can you tell if a game you're gonna get is actually just the disc or if it will come in the case too but no manual?

This has been discussed here in the forums many times. Full package>Disk+manual>Disk only. PC traders value the manual more than the case since PC cases are so large and harder to ship. Console users all have different opinions as to which they'd rather like as the middle tier option, disk+ manual or case so by default manual gets it.
It would complicate the system too much to add a fourth option since opinions differ if it would fall in the 3rd or 4th tier. All this mumbo jumbo means things will probably stay as they are...

You aren't promised anything other than disc only when that option is selected. Meaning you aren't promised a case. To ensure you are getting a case, you must request full package.

Thanks for the replies guys. This is pretty much a dealbreaker for me. That's too bad that you cant list the fact that you have the game and case but no manual. I dont get why this wouldnt be here..

I'm talking for console games btw. Pc games wouldnt be a problem because jewel cases are everywhere but console cases and inserts are 10x harder to simply replace if all you get is the game.

See, when I'm looking for games, if there's only one game available and it's disc only, I dont even consider it. I need the case, too.

Is there a way to contact someone who has a game for offer to see if it's just the disc or if they have the case too?

So there is no way of telling whether I'll get the case+insert if I choose disc only? No way to contact the next person in line who is offering?

I don't believe so. That would open the doors to going around the system a little more than they need to be. I have had several instances of disc only that gave me disc + insert, and times where the manual was there too. If it's a great game and you really want to play it, just get disc only. Any info you would find in the manual will be easily accessed on the Internet.

In case you didn't know, the point price is the same whether it's full package or disk only.
