No secret that Infinity Ward/Activision are looking to better capitalize on DLC for Modern Warfare 2 than they had for CoD4.
It had been announced that the first map pack, dubbed the "Stimulus Package" would feature 3 new maps along with re-releases of 2 maps from CoD4 - Crash and Overgrown. A recent reveal shows the pricing for said content will be $15 (or 1200 MS points - 30 day timed exclusive to the 360).
Thinking back to CoD4, which had offered 4 new maps for a $10 price tag in it's only map pack release, this does seem to be a little more of a stretch in terms of value. Does this seem reasonable and/or purchase worthy?

This should offset some legal fees

I'm sorry, I'm too busy playing Mass Effect 2 to care about MW2 anymore.
I did play some MW2 for the first time in about 2 months with kevlar51 this weekend and its the same as I remember it. I doubt I'll be dropping 1200pts on it. Especially when I'm considering trading it out before it drops in value.
I don't see why people are complaining so much about 5 maps for $15 when there was absolutely ZERO discussion when CoD4 sold 4 maps for $10.
(Too expensive, IMHO. Map packs should be free.)

All the recent IW/Activision drama is putting this in a more negative light than it normally would have been. I can understand the complaint, based on 2 of the maps being ported over from CoD4 with minimal work and some gamers feel like they are paying ~$5 per map.
I jumped off the MW2 hype train a while back and have barely touched it aside from MP night. The only way I even justify keeping my copy is that I do have friends who play on the regular and I don't mind jumping in now and again.
Personally, I will not be picking this up, unless they run a deal for half price at some point. Too many other games to play and $15 can go a hell of alot further than buying 5 maps.
it's ridiculous; i want the map pack for cod4 was well but won't drop coin on it unless there is a random sale where i can pick it up at half price
I wonder if they'll be free on PC, like they were with past CoD titles? They probably will be, but I wouldn't be surprised if Activision decided to charge for them.
I'm assuming this is muliplayer only, not SpecOps? If it's not SpecOps, I don't care.
$10 for 3 maps is already overpriced as it is.
Spec ops was the only reason I was holding on to this game. Looks like it is time to trade this game in.
Valve's support for Team Fortress 2 puts all these other multiplayer games to shame.

Didn't pay a cent on PC! A shame PC users will not get this free ride anymore I'm sure.

I couldn't even get the conductor to sell me a ticket. No dedicated tracks?! Screw that! There could be a crash!
The game sold like absolutely delicious hotcakes, you know, the ones with bacon in them, for no really good reason, so I've no doubt that this too will sell like hotcakes as well, albeit of the baconless variety.

If the maps are bigger then I'm down. if it's a bunch of tiny maps no thanks
Gary Johnson For President 2012!
Guess it's time to trade this off, I have no intention of paying for map packs.
I do wonder what Crash and Overgrown will look like on MW2.
However, I aint paying $15. If I have to wait a year until it drops to $10 or even $8, I will. Oh, PSN will have a sale. YES they WILL.

5 maps sounds fun, but I won't be buying this (unless everyone I know does, can't take peer pressure, lol)
Last 4 CoD map packs (one on MW1 and 3 on WAW) were all 4 maps each at 800; whether I used all those maps is irrelevant to the facts that I got 4 maps each time for 800 points and this is 1200 for an added one (5). I don't mind 2 remade maps, but older CoD map packs were 800 points each time.
Also 1200 point just sounds and feels much higher than 800, even if that's not technically much higher. Probably the 4 digit vs 3 digits in a number thing.
