It's not DLC, it's paying to unlock disc content
Which falls into the catagory of *dun dun dun* "DLC"
Renaissance 2K: I think the most anyone would get is already in progress: they're offering a rebate if you purchase the game and the DLC from GFWL this month. There are very few publishers that would publicly admit that they've done something douchey. 2K is not one of them. These "paying for an unlock code" rants have been a public issue for long enough that, if they cared, they could have avoided this.

That is the 2K MO. The FOV widescreen issue, they played dumb, then said "oh yeah here is a patch" then users were like, umm that didn't fix the FOV and they flatly stated "FOV is as intended" even when Bioshock 1 had an unlocked FOV option.
It's not that they don't care, it's that they think the users are wrong, again. They care about their own opinion, and think the users are stupid and/or whiney nerds. or some "niche PC widescreen gamers"
Meanwhile they lost a customer who bought Bioshock 1 on PC AND a console. I won't buy either version of BS2 because of their condescending attitude towards series fans.
They won't lose any sleep over losing my $60, but at least I 'voted with my dollar' I guess. I'd rather have unlocked FOV and no "charge for cheat codes" bait and switch DLC and have bought the game. instead, I'll just skip it.

How are you getting that again? Downloadable Content = DLC. this content is already on the disc, it's not downloadable.
TenTonHammer23: People would rather spend the time complaining online, spending possibly hours raging about it, that could be used to make money to pay for the DLC. Kinda counter productive there.

Right because I can go and find hourly jobs out there, and ones that let me bring my kids with me as well. That is really going to happen. People have every right to spend as much time as they want complaining about something. If it bothers you then stop reading the thread.
You download a small file to unlock it, so it's still downloadable content. It's still in the DLC section if you look it up. So yeah, its classified as DLC. Deal with it.

Just because microsoft classified it as DLC does not make it DLC.
And just because it's there doesn't mean you have to buy it and download it.
/thread

And I wont. Just because we dont have to buy it doesnt mean we are not allowed to complain about it.
It isn't content, it is a key. The content is on the disk, the download just lets you use it.
I guess that it would be called DLK?

You are allowed to complain about it. That doesn't mean you won't sound like a crybaby while you do it. A lot. Repeatedly.

If we were talking about, for example, a new Madden game comes out and you have to buy DLC to unlock the AFC, because it only comes with the NFC, and then 3 months later they release the 'DLC' to unlock the superbowl; ok, I totally understand and agree.
However, in a case like this, where you've had access to a full game, and can enjoy the game to a full extent without getting the DLC, it doesn't make any sense to whine that it wasn't available to begin with. Sure, we all want to get more. I can't fault anyone for that. However, when you got 100% for the money you paid, and you're complaining that you didn't get 110%, just because they could have if they wanted to... well, see above posts.

And once again, this.

Except that when you play that game, and from the start people complain about how empty the MP feels, how buggy it is, how lackluster it is and how there needs to be more weapons etc you cant really say that you could enjoy it to its full extent. Now we find out that even the developers felt the same way and actually made a better product than we got to experience they just want to charge us for it.
The single player mode was good. It could have been longer, and I felt that it was a bit "more of the same" when compared to Bioshock. I feel like the single player alone was probably more like Bioshock 1.5. It had a different story but basically the same game. The reason I went ahead and decided to buy it was because I figured the MP would add major replay value. I would not have paid $60 for the story mode alone. I got it and played the MP first, hated it, then "salvaged" my purchase by playing through the story twice (one good one evil).
I'm OK with my purchase but still feel that ,considering that I already had Bioshock, without the MP the whole game was no different from any of the Fallout 3 DLC packs... nobody paid $60 for those and they added the same amount of gameplay that you're gonna get out of one play-through of Bioshock 2. This DLC didnt take it from 100% to 110% , at least from the perspective of the MP mode, it made steps toward 100%.
I'll probably be getting the game from Goozex, and definitely not paying for the DLC, so they won't be getting a dime from me.

You honestly think two more characters and a handful of weapon upgrades will completely change anyone's opinion on the MP?
If anyone purchased a single-player driven game like Bioshock 2 for the multi-player, they deserve the disappointment.
And enough with the "full experience" arguments. They're total BS.
