Not quite sure how to word the thread title, but let me throw a suggestion out that hit my mind today.

A friend of mine loves sports games and I know the popularity of them drop every year with a new one released. A lot of these games are harder to trade since one can find a newer game for the same point price or just slightly higher. Or imagine someone wanting points right away or wanting to get a game off the shelf in a hurry.

What if someone who offers a game could lower the point cost of the game to try and get their copy traded faster. Those who offer the games at a lower price are moved up in line to ship their game first. It would possibly help games that most people don't want pick them up "just for the heck of it" if they were lowered from 100 pts to just 50 pts.

Of course I can see how complicated it could be, but I think it would be beneficial also. The limit could remain the same so a current 1000 point game couldn't be exceeded, only lowered by the person offering the game.

Just a thought, now flame awayBig Smile

I've seen this idea mentioned a few times before.  Didn't like it then, don't like it now.

If one person is allowed to offer the game at a lower price, all people will offer the game at a lower price because otherwise they'll be pushed to the back of the line indefinitely.

The beauty of Goozex is that there is no bartering or price choices. It's a main reason that the system works well.

In the end that would eventually make every game on the system worth 100 pts and it would fall apart.

Anything that allows anyone to jump a spot in the queue for any reason other than the people ahead of them fulfilling the transaction is a bad, bad idea that misses the entire point of Goozex.

Ok, so we implement it, and then just about everything is involved in a bidding war, where sellers all reduce their games down to 50 points to try and jump the queue.

It won't work

This idea has been proposed so many times before, and every time it's met with the same thing, it's a bad idea overall for Goozex. Yes it works on other sites, but Goozex is not like other sites.

Not really, there is supply and demand at work too. Take a look at something like FFVII on the playstation. Today it's trading for 850 pts. There are many other examples of older games that retain their value. That is just one.

I have spent most of my money on women and beer. The rest I just wasted....
