If you are referring to me, while I do have a PS3, it was my most recently purchased of the current gen consoles I own.. I am actually playing ME2 on my PC, however. I can assure you, I am above the console wars :)

That doesn't make up for the fact that I don't think the game does well what it was supposed to do well. If anything I am a fanboy against consolitis.

Couple more things I am pondering today... Why the frick are there so many characters if they all have slightly different variations of the same handful of abilities? Could we have gotten a bit more diversity here? And why are the upgradable attributes so lame? They seemed to actual have a big impact on how you play your character in the first one.. not here..

I wish every game wasn't watered down so that it runs and plays well on consoles. Can't really blame the publishers/devs though.. that's where the money is...

ME2 was well made. The scanning was annoying. ME3 is probablly going to involve getting every species behind you. In ME1, if you helped the Rachni They owe you big. If you didn't kill Wrex, the clan Urdnot krogan are behind you. [Potenial Spoilers] If you helped legion either way, the non heritics will be with you. The quarians are going to help if you  got Tali off the hook.

Not just you. I played the first one all the way through waiting for it to end. The second one has sat in my house for a while (its my friends he let my bro play it) I haven't picked it up once so I can't say it sucks but I have watched my brother play and I played the first and was totally bored. The action didn't last long and I just fall into another hour or so of overly dramatic talking scenes. Very uninteresting to me as well. But I can't really speak for ME2 but I did watch a lot of it and it was great to fall asleep to nice and calm. Sounds like your in a lounge with  people talking. Ahhh....

the talking is the best part. That is where the story lies. That is why they are called RPG'S!!!!!!!

I enjoyed ME2's gameplay, but felt the story was meh. Like others have already said, the plot itself was pretty lacking--there was a thrown-together opening scene, and then the last mission. Everything else was either a recruiting mission or a loyalty mission--fractured from the rest of the story. So really ME2's length was determined almost exclusively on how many team members the developers decided to put in the game.

Exactly! Methinks kev has been playing a bit too much MW2.

Which ironically had more thrown-together scenes than many big-budget games in recent memory.

In regards to the lackluster story, keep in mind that this is the middle of a three part story which traditionally is a little slower than the beginning or end...
