Hey all,

I am new to goozex, and have only traded away full packages so far, using the standard bubble mailer and USPS first class mail.  I am about to ship my first disk only trade out and wanted to know how the pros (thats you guys Smile) ship a disk, should I still use a bubble mailer or is envelope + clamshell okay? And what shipping method with usps (still first class?)?

Thanks

The way I ship disk only is to put the disk inside a jewel case or a clam shell. It just depends on what I have available at the time. If none of those are available, I put the disk into a paper sleeve and sandwich the disk in between two thick cardboard pieces. After sealing the bubble wrap package, I will write in bright red sharpie "Fragile contents: Please do not attempt to bend or smash".

And then hope it arrives safe and sound.

I put the disc in a thin jewel case and then put that in a bubble mailer. So far, there have been no problems.

Check your local discount stores for packages of jewel cases. There's a chain dollar store here that sells packs of four jewel cases for $1, so you might have something like that in your area.

I have a pack of 200 disc sleeves that I use with a bubble envelope. Have had zero problems so far.

I like to get a really big bubble mailer.  I then fill it with rocks and glass, smaller sharp rocks work the best.  I then toss the game in and shake it up so the game gets into the middle of the rocks and glass.  Finally I seal it and write in bold letters "KICK ME!!" on it.

In all seriosness I put all my disc only trades into dvd cases that are similar to xbox cases and just ship them normally.

In my case, it's bubble mailer and jewel case for disk-only (on disk-based games), always. If I don't have a jewel case available, I take one that has a random thing I don't care about in it, put the disk I don't care about in a spindle, and use the case I just freed up. To me, it's important to at least always provide a case with a game.

I use cd-rom sleeves. You can usually fit 2-3 disc in one without being too tight. Then I put that in a small cd bubble envelope and off it goes.

Always in a jewel case or dvd case.

For me it depends on what kind of game it is.  If its a psx game, I have quite a few cd cases I just put them in.  If it's a ps2/xbox game, I try to put them in a dvd case.  I've never traded out ps3 games as DO, but if I did, I'd try to get some kind of blu ray sized case.  I don't want to mess up people's shelf set ups :D

Don't send it in a sleeve, because I did and received +5 feedback because it wasn't the packaging he expected. I asked him if the everything was ok with the game condition (which I knew it was before I sent it), he said it was, but that he always ships in jewel cases for disc only and that I should too. Pretty much BS but I didn't want to deal with fighting it.

Most people do a good job sending disc only. I got a broken disc once though when someone wrapped it in and a small piece of cereal box cardboard in a piece of paper and sent it. Luckily it was only a 100 Point game

I saved a bunch of those metal tins that AOL used to ship out their free trial CDs in. I just sealed it with tape and wrapped that with a single piece of drawing (a little heavier stock) paper.

Only disc only I ever received was in a little circular plastic case, almost the same size as a regular sized cd.  Very thin.  I guess you would call it the clam shell case.  Anyway, guy in canada sent me metal gear solid twin snakes in it.  Two disc gamecube game, in this thin case, with a piece of tissue between the discs.  Needless to say, the games were cracked all to hell when they got here. :(  So never again for disc only requests for me.

Goozex has a button in the "my account" section that you can make to ship disk only.
