Depends on the site. Pinecone pays 3 dollars per survey you complete, and averages about 20 minutes a survey. Surveyspot pays in points, like goozex points set up, and you cash them in after a certain amount for money. 100 points there is 1 dollar, and after 1000 points you can cash out. Surveys they send you, usually daily in my case, range from 50 points to 4000 points. I recently did an online focus group they sent me and got a check for 40 bucks for 1 hour of reviewing products.
SuperRick: TenTonHammer23:I'll actually give a serious answer on this, cause I feel in the giving mood. You can do online surveys for money. That's actually how I pay for all my trade tokens and some of my points on here. Sites like surveysavvy, surveyspot, pinecone research, etc all pay money for surveys, either by check or paypal. Might wanna check into that. Sounds interesting, can you give a little more info about how long these surveys take and what they usually pay?

I checked out the first two sites he mentioned and signed up for the first one he said about 4 hours ago. So far, no surveys. Maybey that means no spam as well :)

Pinecone Research is great, surveysavvy and sureyspot... Not so much... Mindfield research and buzz back work perfectly.
Also Freestufftimes.com is great for getting free things off the internet (Dont expect much more then a few samples..)

This is by far the best option to go down, sign up for a crap load of survey sites, (legit ones only to avoid spam). Then wait for the BIG survey's to come in. It could take a few weeks or even months, but when you see "Get $25" or get "5000 points" rather then "Get $2" or Get "100 points" thats when you know to hurry up and do it. Sadly, the big bucks are very hard to get in. The screener is a pain in the ass!
I would also suggest Bzzagent, they are a word of mouth site, you get free products and you have to spread the word of mouth. I've gotten soy milk (coupons) 5 Gum (Coupons again) but the best I've gotten was a top of the line $250 LCD touch screen logitech harmony one universal remote. It's badass and I still haven't used it for more then a day or two. I probably should sell it before it becomes outdated...
I enjoy Pinecone mainly cause if you get a survey, you are pretty much almost guaranteed the 3 dollars if you complete it, plus you do get to sample new stuff a lot of times as well. I got quite a few samples of brand new products in the mail, most of them ended up being things I bought when they did get on the market here. Plus you get paid an extra 3 bucks just to try them, so 6 bucks to try a new drink or deo or something? SOLD!
Surveyspot is very reliable though. It is harder to get in the bigger ones though, but if you do get an invite for a focus group with them, DO IT. I have took part in 3 of them so far, all 3 of them paid 40 bucks each. Seems like if you complete the first one, you are pretty well in for others as well.
Surveysavvy is kinda hit or miss. I do a few surveys of theirs here and there, just enough to get the 20 or 30 bucks you are required before you can get a check.
Another viable option is inboxdollars, if you don't mind getting 2 or 3 emails a day from them that you have it just click on to see an ad. It takes a long time to make any money off of them, but I have probably made 60 or so bucks off of them in the last year just by clicking on ads twice a day.
I actually use the Lightspeed Consumer Panels from time to time, and was considering doing it for extra money over the summer. Being that it's almost impopssible to find work nowadays, I find it a slightly better solution than most.
On average you can make about $4-5 an hour doing these surveys if you're lucky, and they take between 15 and 45 minutes per survey. However, I only ever seem to get 5-10 surveys every 2-3 days, so how much you can make in a day is limited. However, if you spent 4 hours a day 3 days a week doing these surveys you could get up to $60 a week for it, over $200 a month, ect. Any extra money I can get for College, right?

Here's a video on how those survey sites work and which is the best way to get the high paying surveys.

G-Nitro: Farm and sell WoW gold
Farm and sell WoW gold
This was actually far more profitable in everquest when the level cap went from 65-70.
I could play both my necro and my cleric farming muramite runes for peoples level 66-68 spells and sell them for about 50,000 pp each. It'd take me about an hour or so to get one.
I'd get a couple, sell them, then turn around and sell 100k plat for $50 US.
If I'd get lucky, I'd get a ring worth 200k plat itself and then sell it for $100 US.
I bought a tv with some, and food with the rest. My wife actually liked me playing Everquest for a short while.
These surevey sites sound like something I'd be interested in. I can't set them up under my work e-mail though, and I couldn't always get to the survey right away. Is there a deadline for how much time you have to respond to a survey invatation, and if so generally how much time do you have?

What I notice is that you typically have a few days or less to respond to the surveys on Lightspeed, but being that it takes about that long for new surveys to become available, it only really becomes an issue for surveys worth a lot of money.
At Lightspeed you get points, typically between 150-300 points per survey, and at 575 points you can cash out $5 to your paypal account. the 150-300 point surveys are usually 15-30 minutes, but sometimes as long as 40-45, so I tend to think twice about taking surveys only worth about a buck in points that will require almost an hour of my time.
I can't find anywhere to sign up with pinecone Is it by referral only?

Pinecone takes registrations usually twice a year it seems like. They send out emails to members to give out to family members or friends to let them sign up. It's not a regular referral system though, as one link is used to let everyone sign up.
BUT! You are in luck. I found this posted on the somethingawful forums the other day, they are doing sign ups right now.

Probably should hurry and sign up as soon as possible if you are interested, cause they only take registrations for as long as they have open spots.

Thanks for the tops! I used to use cash crate which wasn't too bad as long as you had a junk e-mail and a lot of time to kill. I signed up for the pinecone one and have my fingers crossed. It would be nice to get a few extra bucks while I'm in class!
