I'm relatively new around here, I've had a bunch of trades that went smooth as butter, until this one trade for an xbox360 copy of Viva Pinata.

The guy accepted the trade and committed to ship. I waited the usual three days, and no DC number popped up on the site for it, so I PM'ed him to see if he had shipped it out. Magically it received a DC # right after that, but I got no response. So I've waited. Checking the USPS DC every day, and its never changed from USPS expects to receive your package status.

So I wake up this morning to a trade cancellation request sitting on this trade. I've never canceled a trade before, and there are 6 days left on this trade, and I obviously haven't received the game yet. If I don't accept the cancellation and leave him negative feedback am I screwed out of my points and token and place in line?

I've tried to be a good citizen around these parts but this really irks me.

Well. Some people would say that if he had a REALLY good reason they'd accept the cancellation.

I'd say that he gets a negative because of the following.

a) 6 days left of trade

b) obviously left a fake tracking number

If you accept the trade cancellation, you get your points and place in line back right away.

If you leave negative, you have to wait 72 hours for him to dispute or accept it. After that you have to wait another 48 hours to get your points, token and place in line back. But you will.

So the other choice for YOU is:

a) Cancel and get your points, token and place in line back right away.

b) Negative, take 4-5 days to get your stuff back. Personally, I'd negative him. Though surprisingly he must never have confirmed it shipped to be able to cancel the trade.

I would go with a negative but that would mean you have to wait for your points but its your call, OP.

I think chaostheory did a Good job covering all the bases.

Heh I didn't realize that,.  I'll have to fix it.

As far as my situation with my seller, I placed a negative feedback on it, he disputed it, and I waited a few days and magically the USPS has accepted shipment of the game yesterday.

I mean really, come on, why do people do this? You had the game, you put it up for trade, I waited over a week for you to ship, and it took impending negative feedback for you to get it shipped off?
