Inventory in ME 1 was terrible even from a customization lover's view point. ME 2 had one of the best gaming experiences off all time! Dragon Age is just as good but overall ME2 beats Dragon Age in my book.

I voted ME2. I haven't logged in many hours yet as I just got it for my birthday but up to now it's been amazing. I'm sure Dragon Age is awesome as well and I have it on my want list. The only thing is that there are so many "wizards and warriors vs orcs and dragons" out there in the RPG world that ME2 (and ME1 for that matter) is always a nice breath of fresh air.

Yeah, I love loot gathering as much as the next loot-monger (Borderlands, FTW!) but the original Mass Effect's inventory system was garbage. Limited inventory space with no real indication of when you were getting full, the inability to acquire new items once your inventory was full leading to a lot of missed loot, having to sell/break down everything to make room for more loot, and let's not forget the terrible ordeal of selling/breaking down mods what with the cursor always auto-defaulting on the mods you DON'T want to get rid of.

I've never actually run into any of those problems, and even if I had I would have just put it down to learning how to use the system the best way possible.

This is why I like Hellgate: London. In that, I'm able to take out any demon as long as I can see it using this sniper rifle.

ME 2 is the amazon game deal of the day so I voted for that because you can get it cheap today. Both are great games.

Too late, my parents already ordered it. Besides I was going to be getting whichever game won the vote at Walmart with gift-cards so it would have been cheap (for me) no matter what.

Commander Shepard

Is it me, or does the name Shepard keep popping up?  I think it's a very cool name, be it first name or last.  The general in MW2 is name Sheperd, guy on Lost is Jack Shepherd, this ME guy, Sheperd Smith on the news...  he's really not a cool as his name though.

Not to mention Jack and Christian Shepard on Lost.

Uhh... Jack was already mentioned in the section you quoted... =)

My last name is Shepard.... and Lost and Mass Effect are my favorite.... coincidence?

I think that Dragon Age: Origins is a better game for PC. It was just meant for the computer. Mass Effect is better for 360; the controls just fit the third-person shooter feeling.

Taking care of your inventory in Mass Effect was akin to tending a weed garden. Leave it alone for a little bit and suddenly everything's overgrown.

My birthday is coming up on the 18th and I'm, probably, going to have $75 worth of Walmart gift-cards, and I'll add $25 cash to get 2 games. I'm definitely going to get Divinity II: Ego Draconis, I'm just not sure if I should go for Dragon Age or Mass Effect 2. I'm leaning towards Dragon Age, especially after I read the PC Gamer review of ME2, it seems that a bunch of the things I liked (such as the inventory management and all of the different weapons to choose from) got cut from the game. But, I'm willing to give it a try if that is what wins in the poll below. The poll will run for one week.

Am I the only one here that is wondering why its Divinity 2 that is the sure purchase here. There are 2 games mentioned in this post that are sure things and Divinity isn't one of them.

I was beginning to wonder when someone was going to mention that.

To answer your question, it's because I have the demo for Divinity 2 so I already know that I'll like it.

Nope, you're not the only one haha. I was going to say get Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins and just forget about Divinity II: Ego Draconis as in my opinion the demo of that game was terrible, but if you say you liked it Vanyel...

What I like in games isn't always considered normal (just look at the posts above concerning ME1's inventory), and sometimes I honestly don't know what will make me choose one game over another.

I thought it was fun/interesting... Right up until I went to go to bed for the night and found that I would either have to leave the game running, and invite nature to damage my rig (don't laugh, I've lost 2 motherboards and an answering machine to lightning), or have to redo the entire demo. I turned it off and the demo has been tempting/taunting me ever since. I still want to play it, but only if I have the real game so I can save my progress.

I hated Divinity II but I played it on the 360 not the much better PC version

Yeah, could be like Dragon Age, I guess. I hear it's better on PC and I believe it. I have it for 360 so I can make an educated guess. Anyway, I also played the Divinity II demo on the 360 so I guess I'm biased if the PC version of it actually IS better.
