I understand the role supply & demand plays in the Goozex formula, but I do believe the system would be better served by capping games at the full retail equivalent price (no more than 800 points in this situation).

Retail prices in the US are generally lower than the ones in Canada, for what it's worth.

I think I traded four or five copies of the game at 1000 points. There definitely is (or was) demand for it.

Daaaaaaaamn! Hard-core flipper.
if you got the points why not , all its doing is just sitting in the system,
i got lucky and got if for 900 points , and i recieved it brand new .
what a deal.
You can say that each point is worth a nickel , or at least that's how much it is to buy points. With that being the case you are spending 1000 points or 50.00 dollars to get a 30.00 dollar game, thats not brand new. In my case I started Goozex by buying points at a sale , I bought 2000 points for 50.00 dollars plus tax. So I would only be spending 25.00 dollars to get a 1000 point game. There is also the buy it new option for some games like (CODMW2) they are asking 2400 points , that's 120.00 dollars if you bought your points at regular Goozex prices, that seems a bit extreme but at the price i paid that equals out to be 60.00 plus trade token. For a brand new copy! I'm fairly new to this but I can see how people can have such different views , it all depends on how you got your first big chunk of points!
People were MORE than happy to use 1000pts on GOWcollection, there is no need for a point change as long as the demand is this high.
points NOT = cash
Why not? I could get the game for cheap and there were tons of people requesting it. Im sure everyone who received it was excited to receive it so quickly.

I have done the same thing with a couple of games. I traded out 4 copies of infamous and 10 copies of Gears of War 2.
Personally, I wouldn't want to be sitting on a 10K stash of points. I've currently got 3000+ and it's making me feel antsy. Plenty of stuff on my requests list, though... *patience* *patience*

I currently only have 2500pts. Whenever I have too many points I request games. I dont mind having a lot of points but I really like my games so when I have lots of points that just means I can get more games.
It's not like I don't have 90 things on my request list!
I am also hoping to get in on FFXIII, and hoping that the DJ Hero line moves a little more (it's starting to trade!!). Between those two and Heavy Rain, plus whatever random DVD/Blu-rays come my way, my points are spoken for. Eventually, at least... :)
For me it really depends on how i got the points. I wouldnt have got it if I actually bought the points with money. But I though the whole point of this website was to TRADE things you didnt want for things you did. In my case, i traded a bunch of movies I no longer watched or wanted for a game I REALLY wanted, but had no actually money to buy.
GOW Collection > 10 old movies.
The choice was easy.

If you could afford to ship 10 movies, you could afford GOW collection.

Well, first of all, you'd likely be $10 short (assuming $30 MSRP), but more importantly, if you look at the site like that, then it may not be for you.
Most people ship over time, rather than ginormous quantities all at once. $2 here and there to fulfill your end of a trade isn't much to ask when someone is doing the same when they ship to you.
