According to playstation.com, I may be at 84% on AC2  Sad  Means I have to beat it again.  At least it was by far the easiest ending I think I've ever played, so I should be back at my shiny almost plat relatively soon.

Kenny007:
Not only could I not play AC2, but I couldn't do anything, even if it were installed to the HDD; like watch Qore episodes or play demos.

I was able to play Resistance last night.  I didn't get a chance to try any other games though.

Edit: I have the 80gb model, not the slim.

Tried to Play Marvel vs Capcom 2 and it reverted back to the trial version. Netflix didn't work either.

From Joystiq.com

"Update: It's been 11 hours since our last update from Sony, and Phat PS3s worldwide are still unable to play trophy-supported games. The issue is almost certainly non-PSN related, and appears to be a firmware issue caused by the screwy time and date settings. The issue is also affecting debug consoles, which Develop reports is preventing PS3 game developers from working on their projects. We'll keep pushing Sony on this issue. Happy New Year, everyone!"

My concern is just HOW will this be fixed.  If a firmware update is required, getting that taken care of is a heck of a lot more difficult if you can't connect to PSN in the first place.  While the option to install from removable media is there, I'm sure that many will not find that helpful.

Well if things do revert back to normal during overnight then any updates should be possible. Quality control should get shot....

The problem apparently is with the PS3 Phats up to 60 gb (80gb are ok).  There is already a fix if you're a risk taker.  You can remove the battery and reset the CMOS, but you have to open your PS3.  I'm just going to wait and see.  Basically if you have the Phat 20-60gb version went online and logged in, you won't be able to play any trophy supported games (even if you are offline) or any online downloaded content until they fix this.  If you haven't logged onto PSN , don't do it!!!

P.S.  Gamespot has a great thread about this with links and what not, here it is.....

FYI 80 gb consoles are not ok.  I started this thread and I have an 80gb.  Its the slims that seem to be ok, and all fats are having the problem.

I can confirm this is not the case with an 80GB from the MGS bundle.

EDIT:  What ghost said.

Luckily I never even turned on my PS3 this weekend. I guess I won't be until I hear the coast is clear.
