10:36 AM today, I got the following email:
Hello xxxxxxxxxxxx, Goozex member <xxxxxxxxxxxx> wanted to let you know that they have shipped "xxxxxxxxxxxx" (system: Nintendo DS). Below is optional information they may have provided.
2:01 PM today, the following PM exchange began:
I thought I was reasonable (if a little confused and mildly frustrated) so far, but here comes the hate:
Thoughts? Looks like my reference to Goozex support is what set him off, but as opposed to a threat, I was hoping they could offer some help here. So as I asked in the title, am I out of line here?
Hello dinaboo,
Thank you for posting. We are sorry to read about your difficulties with that seller. Typically, the seller should send you the incomplete package (we assume it's a working game without accessories that affect it's playability), and you report neutral feedback resulting in you receiving the working item you requested, and the seller taking a hit to their feedback score. This seller has made this a special circumstance situation where we are making a one-time exception and authorizing you to report any form or negative feedback immediately.
BE WARNED: Although this may not apply to you, we must warn you that if your PM correspondence was edited in any way other than removing vulgarities and/or nicknames, then this exception made for you is no longer a possibility, and you should report feedback as normal.
We expect 1 of 2 outcomes as a result of negative feedback:
1. Seller disputes the negative, which will bring you to the resolution center. We recommend you escalate the dispute immediately, so that Goozex can finalize it ASAP, providing you with a full refund.
2. Seller doesn't care to dispute, and allows the 72-hour timeframe to expire, providing you an opportunity with an undisputed refund.
In the feedback comment, you should post "Instructed to report this feedback by Chooch in this thread: <provide link here>"
Note: As some of the other users have said, a trade cancellation is present at the time that the transaction is initiated. Once shipment is confirmed, the trade cancellation option disappears. The only time the trade cancellation becomes available again is within the resolution center (resulting from a dispute). Although we continue to receive requests to do such, we currently cannot cancel any transactions; trade cancellations must be completed between both traders.
Also, I'm going to remove the other verified responses to provide concise clarity. (the responses are accurate, and helpful, but this reply creates redundancy)
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
dinaboo: I left negative feedback and after the seller responded (with yet another personal attack), I escalated to Goozex. I also received a cancellation request from the seller. Should I accept it, or wait for the dispute process to play out first? Thanks again for all your help.

Both you and the seller originally wanted to cancel the trade. Aside from the seller's inability to maintain communication in an appropriate manner, you two have reached your goal (seller initiated a trade cancellation). We recommend you accept the trade cancellation immediately to have your points returned and your queue position reinstated. Thanks again for double-checking on a step-by-step basis to ensure you are following proper procedures. We hope this resolves the issue entirely, and you can resume trading worry-free. Happy Trading!
first off, after he confirm shipped, neither of you could cancel
secondly, assuming you didn't edit anything, you did nothing wrong.
you may want to forward these PM's to a mod (I suggest Mafafu) so they can forward this to the G-team
You are not out of line.
Is the user you're dealing with an established user, or a new account. I can't halp but think he's trying to get you to request a cancel to take you out of the line so that his reall account can move up in the queue.
And there's no reason he can't cancel. Unless he's already confirmed shipped, the cancellation button is right there for him to click.
Thanks for the quick reply. The only thing I edited was to xxxxx out the usernames and game name from the Shipping Confirmation email, and bold and underline the part where he lashed out.
I'll go forward the PMs to mafafu now (after I figure out how ).
Thanks again.
You're not out of line, not by a long shot. As a matter of fact, the reason he can't cancel is because he said the game was on its way (by confirming shipping) when it obviously wasn't. The seller's really the one being out of line. Hit that guy with a negative as soon as possible for game not received if he doesn't send it. Have him then start a dispute and initiate the cancel himself; that way you won't lose your spot in line.
After they have confirmed shipped they can not cancel it. The only way to have them cancel it now is for you to leave a negative feedback and then for them to dispute it and in the dispute they can then request to cancel the trade and you can confirm the cancel.
The way the user is acting I would send a pm to one of the mods as was suggested as that type of language towards another user is unacceptable.
Goodness.
That reply certainly came out of nowhere.
That response is way out of line and needs to be reported. I'll make sure a mod checks this thread in the morning and gets in contact with you.
Wow, he sounded nice in hist first pm, then completely explode in the last one. Bipolar?
What's up with the douchebag traders here in the last few days? I guess the point sale brought in some dandies.
Thanks for the input everyone. Much appreciated.
Responding to BFZ's post, I'll wait for the mod to contact me tomorrow, at which point I'll gladly forward all PMs in all their unretouched glory.
I never got the PM, but I am flagging this for the G-team. Good luck!

It only helps build my "Do Not Trade With" list. :D
...all the more reason negative should be an option for mislisted items.
Incorrectly listed a product, verbal assault, and abuse of the points system with an early confirm (thus making it impossible for them to do the right thing while they just shrug and go 'Oh Well') makes me hope this user gets a firm slap in the face at the very least.
