Sorry if this is somewhere on the site, but how does getting points work, for example, if i wanted to trade a game in today, and there was someone requesting it, if it is an instant transaction, how long do i have to wait until i get the points, just until the person recieves it, or is it longer than that?

Also, do i need to spend a token to offer a game, or only to request one?

You get the points when the person leaves any feedback BUT negative.

You only need tokens to REQUEST games.

I'm very leery about using Goozex. The whole idea that I would send out a game, in this case Dragon Age Origins, and rely on the other person to leave me feedback for me to get the points for the game, has me feeling very uncomfortable. What's to prevent the person who gets the game from not bothering to leave any feedback at all, screwing me out of the game and points?

I mean I know if I take the game to gamestop I won't get a lot of money, but it's a guaranteed return.

If the other person does not leave feedback, the system automatically gives you a maximum value positive feedback in 14 days (or 21 for international trades).

If you send your product out with Delivery Confirmation - you're good as gold (provided you don't send a damaged game...).

Unfortunately there will be bad trades/traders on occasion, but by far and large, your Goozex experience will be positive.  I personally have like 30 trades gone out with zero problems.  There are other traders (insane traders like G-Nitro...) who practically live on Goozex and will testify to the value of this website.

I've been using goozex for over 2 years now and saved hundreds of dollars, if not thousands, and have yet to have one bad trade, besides the 2 or 3 games that I had to send to goozex that they had to test and get refunds for.  I would have to say though that goozex is about the only place I would ever consider for used games, that's for sure.

I'd be more worried about supply and demand issues than the safety of the website. I have about 30 transactions with no problems.

I am sometimes annoyed that I can't get a hot new game in a timely manner, or that nobody is offering up an older game I want, but then I remind myself I have about 10 games sitting here from goozex that I haven't touched yet Big Smile

My big concern, after seeing you all say safety really isn't an issue, is time. I can go ahead and trade my DA:O right now for 1000 points, wait a week or two for the points to actually get to my account, then get on the wait list for ME2, knowing the cerebus codes won't most likely work. Lord only knows how long that wait might be.

Or I can take DA:O, along with Marvel UA2, and Mass effect right to gamestop and get a brand new copy of ME2 tomorrow. Sure I'll be passing up the extra points I could potentially get here for the two extra games, but I'll have a New copy of ME2 right away.

Kinda torn, extra potential points or instant gratification of a brand new game.

They do give you the option to purchase said codes when starting the game

And that is the conundrum; my backlog at this point is ginormous; so even if i were far back in line for a game, i would still have something to play; there are few games that are a must buy since i am patient and know if i wait a bit I'll have that game and have spent only the cost of shipping to get said points and a trade token

Pizza guys are getting worse and worse looking. I guess all the good ones went into porn.

If you really want ME2 with an unused code your best bet is to buy it new.  Goozex is a great way to stretch your dollar, but is by no means the only way to get your games.  When you're done with ME2, throw it up on here.  Plenty of people would rather spend $10 for the Cerberus code than $60.

It's $15, not $10 :P

That's my point. The cost for the cerebus acess is $15, which I don't have...lol. I think I'm going to pass up using goozex again and hit gamestop on Friday. It's just easier.

As far as falling back while waiting for points onto games I haven't played,...I've played everything I own. I only own 20 games, so having a waiting backlog just isn't something I'm lucky enough to have.

Thanks for all the input though!
