Wow Finland didn't show up. Too bad they can't shake hands early when it gets out of hand like curling.
acsguitar:As for beer I'm not sure where you are in Canada but VT has awesome beer
I'm currently in Ontario, but I've lived in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Alberta and Manitoba. I hated living out west and having to pay import fees to drink Keith's.

Toronto's pretty huge so you should probably be able to find good US beers too. Drink stuff from VT, Colorado, California, and Portland

I don't think they realized you're supposed to celebrate AFTER you win...or it's Blackcoyote's conspiracy theory at work
You know the best thing about hockey is that the guys are apparently all free spirited friendly nut bags. In my sports writing classes all the writers would say hockey is the most fun to cover cause everyone is down to earth.
game over w/ 4 minuts left in the first. 6-0....wow.
acsguitar:Toronto's pretty huge
So in Ontario It would take me roughly 20 hours to get there. I'll have to check for some when I visit the in-laws
Wow what a joke of a game. It was over after 10 minutes. As a Canadian this is actually a scary sight to see.
The Finn's just was not ready to compete at any level today.
cheeznrice:Dale Begg-Smith doesn't need funding, he's a millionaire.
Now, yes. However, he left Canada at 16 because team Canada wouldn't let him spend time on his business (that he founded at 13). That business was started because he wasn't able to pay for his equipment, rides and all.
Like I said, I'm fine with that funding for athletes, and for the record, I'm fine with the healthcare system (which is a provincial jurisdiction anyway).
Beer here only sold at the beer store (owned by molsons and labatts) and the government owned Liquor store. Liquor stores lists 49 USA sourced brands (doesnt include the big ones under license to the Canadian brewers), which are mostly the strohs, Millers and genessee types. Odds of being able to buy a given USA regional brand here extremely low....

Way to ruin hockey/beer talk (so is athletic funding, provinces kick funds in to)

Sounds like an explanation Mordin would give in ME2...I guess the only solution is to head South. I'll bring my board
Here, while there are maybe 200 different brands of beer at my local grocery store, microbreweries from the USA are usually not there. Tons of European and Canadian micros, but it seems the only USA beers we get is Budweiser (cooking beer!). It's sad, cause there are some great US micros out there.

I won't even use it for that...I use MGD for cooking
Unfortunately my dad loaded up on American beer when we were down in MN. He was kind enough to leave it all at my house...if I ever run out of water I guess I can use that as a substitute.
Being from Montreal I'd assume you have a lot more access to micros...that's not the case?

Quebec micros - tons - it used to be the major (and best ones, like Unibroue, Dieu du Ciel, Charlevoix), but now there's a lot of bad crap out there. Everyone and their brother think they can be brewers and local grocery stores will give shelf space to local entrepreneurs. Who knew there were so many brewers in Laval?
Canadian micros - a lot, European micros - a few. For some reason, unless you go to those little beer stores (like that legendary store in Longueuil that has about 500 different beers), I rarely see American beer.

Hmmm I must be confused about my Canada geography. Is Ontario a city as well as a Provence
