The romance is cool, but there is no nekkid, so it's kinda lame in that regard.  I prefer levels, lewts, and stuff to kill.  Don't get me wrong, I love me some good romance , but there are never enough *** options

Agreed, but they could at least have put in the option for Shepards who chose Liara in ME1 to reaffirm that relationship....what she was doing between ME1 and 2 makes it very unlikely she would have been so blase once she met him/her again. As it is now....I've done every mission now I'm spinning my wheels waiting for more DLC.

I don't know about your game, but in my game Liara greeted Shepherd with a kiss and her image featured prominently in the scene before the suicide mission. That was after romancing her in ME1.

That's what I saw too. Let me put it this way.....if you loved someone enough that you would gladly kill...and put your life in extreme jeapordy...just because someone (an enemy, to boot) told you there was a chance that it would bring them back to you, and one day they walk in the door and you see that it was all worth it....would you settle for a hug and a peck on the cheek?

I'm not one to dig too deep into fictional settings, but I think the background of her race (all business, little emotion) was the explanation for her reaction.

Just from what I've seen ingame, Asari are often quite passionate in thier feelings towards thier mates and children. Even Samara is clearly in agony internally regarding the necessity of executing her favorite daughter. My issue with it isn't about the background per se....I just feel if they are going to put a love interest in a story and they want me to care about that character...they should do it right. If I were Shepard...and I were sitting there hearing the story of just how far she was willing to go for just a chance of getting me back...well, I'd be awed and not a little amorous. The dialogue around when she explains what she has been doing and why is a clear make or break moment in that relationship....Shepard's reaction should have either led to an event that would make the relationship stronger than ever or ended it right there. But they don't give you that option.

Guess this DAO A thread has been hijacked into a ME1 ME2 spoiler fest?

Just in case people got sidetracked by the ME2 spoiler-a-thon...

Awakening on disc can be played either as an expansion to a pre-existing character or as a full stand alone game.  if you buy the disc, you MUST play it from the disc. You cannot install it and trade it out.
If you download the expansion from the marketplace (still $39.99 or 3200 MS points) then you MUST own Dragon Age to play it.

From what I've played, it seems more like Dragon Age 1.5 and it's a pretty big expansion. Alistair is NOT playable (at least in my game) as he shows up more or less in a cameo with some others, but another character from the original game IS there to play.
Pretty fun expansion so far. Definitely worth the price of admission so far!

On the flip side, E raging haters have been all over the DAO boards attacking the devs, calling them stupid, lazy thieves and basically flaming the hell out of everyone because of some bugs and storyline issues.

I'm just enjoying the hell out of DAOA, i tend to like high level stuff and just getting 20-30 makes my day.  Being able to respec is huge, new weapons, rune slots for armor... it's everything I wanted in the expansion..

Same flaws as DAO tho, and no romance.   My main complaint is once you clear an area, that's it.  So there is never enough combat for my tastes

Beat it with 95%ish of everything done.   around 29 hours on hard.  Should have played on nightmare, hard is way too easy.  (if you have all the good gear)

Loved it, better than Origins IMO but I'm a sucker for higher levels, new classes, more skills etc....

DAO is better for people who like story more than gameplay, AW is more for people who want to get their kill on.  Now if they could let AW levels go back to Origins AND have  a new game + in Origins that had much harder enemies and more bosses then you'd really have something.

Like how in BG2 you could go go anywhere at any time for the most part, AW is self contained :(

The bugs are a big let down tho, especially the armor/weapon graphic bug

Not sure why people don't like the characters in AW.  I found them better than Origins for the most part.  Although I hate Orghen in either game.

I thought Nate was much more interesting than Zevran, I was not a Shale fan, I found Wynne to be extremely boring and Alistair was ok I guess, I'm just not sure why so many people prefer those toons over Awake

yes Morrigan was awesome, I'm just not sure how people can say one is so much better than the other?
