Trades stolen, can't cancel wtf?

This weekend I got matched up for a few trades, Iput the games in the boxes, labeled some bubble mailers and threw them in my car, and then clicked confirmed ship. 

Yes I was probably wrong to click confirmed shipped 7-8 hours before going to the post office but I basically always do just to make myself not be lazy/dumb and skip/forget the post office.  Problem is my car was broken into and the games (along with my gps, cell phone and zune hd that was literally 2-3 days old birthday present...:( and some cash) were taken. 

When I was filing my police report I realized I should cancel the trades so the buyer's don't have their time wasted, but there is no longer an option to cancel?  Where did it go/what should I do?  Just let time go and eat the negatives?  I don't really care about the feedback hit I just feel bad making the three buyers wait because they were fairly next in line.

Once you have confirmed shipped, you're telling Goozex and the buyer that the games are no longer in your possession. That is why you cannot cancel the normal way.

I'd email feedback@goozex.com with the information and see what they can do for you, and notify the buyers if you haven't already.

Yep, this is why I've said many times you should never ever hit confirm until they are in the mailbox or at the post office.

It's not like I confirmed shipped and didn't even know where the games were, they were in my car with bubble mailers already with prepaid shipping and addressed etc, all I needed to do was wakeup buy some tape and stick them in the box.

 

Emailing help@ goozex has never gotten me a response in less than 2-3 weeks so at that point I already wasted the buyers time.  Oh well guess I'll just take the negs and feel shitty about the timing for them.

The new cancel rules were put in place with the change to points on confirmed shipping.

help@goozex is usually a bit slower than feedback@goozex, and it makes no sense to give up without finding if they can help. I'd shoot off an email.

Since they did the confirm shipment for points change, you have to go through the negative process to cancel.   Like zodiac said, that button basically tells goozex that the items are no longer in your possession and there wouldn't be a reason you'd need to cancel.  Unforunately most people seem to think it's ok to hit it as soon as they print out a label, but you have cases like yours where it gets stolen, or your house could burn down, you could get in an accident, etc.  That is why I've told many people on here that you shouldn't hit it until it leaves your hands either in the mailbox or to a PO worker.  Too much stuff can happen.

You can pm the buyers and explain the situation. If they are understanding, they can leave a negative. Then you will be able to start a dispute. Once in the dispute process, the cancel option will be there for you to initiate.

Emailed buyers and just said to leave negative as soon as it allows them and am throwing an email to goozex that probably will be ignored for a month+ like the last time I needed help but might as well

or u could just go out & buy the games u confirmed u shipped so the buyers get the games u agreed to send (& notified as shipped).  Then u dont get a neg, the buyers get the games they requested, & everyone is happy.

First off, I am sorry your stuff got stolen, that really sucks.  And I appreciate that you are trying to do the right thing by the buyers.

[note: please take this as constructive criticism, since that is how it is intended] Thing is, you already misused the system by clicking confirm shipped when they were NOT shipped.  It really doesn't matter WHAT the reason, you were effectively lying when you said "these have already been shipped, and I am confirming that they are on their way and no longer in my possession'.  Had you done things correctly and honestly, when your stuff was stolen you could have canceled without issue.  Live and learn ... Smile

Taking a crappy attitude towards Goozex when you need them to fix YOUR mistake ... not really the best idea ...

But since you are trying to do the right thing by the buyers I have gone ahead and escalated this to the G-team.

Obviously it's a risk to hit confirmed shipped before they are actually in the mail box. However, I do it whenever I buy the label from the USPS on paypal. Then I ship from work as I feel it's safer then my local ghetto mail box. Of course if my house is broken into and my game stolen the last thing I'm worrying about is goozex so I'd probably try to explain to the buyer and take a neg if I had too.

Just contact the buyer explain the situation and see if you can come to some sort of conclusion. and DUDE NEVER LEAVE ANYTHING VALUABLE IN YOUR CAR. That's the real lesson :)

The buyer is the only one who can request a cancel, probably.
