It's when people get together on Xbox Live or PSN and help each other get multiplayer achievements.

For example, let's say there's an achievement for getting 100 kills in an online game for Xbox 360: I'd get a friend to join my game and then get him to just stand there so I can kill him 100 times, and then when I got the achievement we'd switch places so he could get the achievement.

Or there's an achievement for finishing first in an online racing game: you get a bunch of friends to join the game and they just sit at the starting line and let you win. Then the other players take turns winning the race.
