Mw2 was waaaaay over hyped, and there is no way that battlefield is gonna get all the hype that mw2 got, but in my opinion its going to be a waaay better game.

The demo for bad company 2 destroys modern warfare 2 completly. So the actual game will be waaaaaaaay better then MW2.

But then again that is talking about multiplayer

Single player I can't really pick what newish shooter is the best because recently they havn't really wowed me

I kinda like MP in Bioshock 2, yeah, it's fairly light, but it's also fairly quick and easy to get in games, play for 15min and get out. Sometimes I just don't have 1h to play.

However, I do agree that online trophies should be somewhat limited - maybe not to the extent of Uncharted 2 which required you only to play one comp and one coop game (not even win). But while keeping the level cap at 40, Bioshock 2 the level 30 and 40 trophies. On the other hand, it's also true that no one is forcing me to get the platinum... But yeah, I want it, and those 2 trophies are gonna be the most annoying (not hard, just long).

Indeed.  I've heard the MW2 SP story kind of throws caution to the wind with ridiculousness in its story, however, BF has never really had a SP focus at all, so I wonder how it'll compete.

I'm not too worried about it though, since both would have been primarily MP purchases, and I've already got about 40 hours into a slightly buggy, single level, PC beta.  I've already got my preorder purchase price out of the beta and the game hasn't even released yet!

I'm thinking of the franchise as a whole.  The BC series is becoming the exception.  1942, Nam, 2, 2142, Heroes, 1943, and likely 3 all lacked a story.

My only trade match with BC fell through so I still haven't had a chance to see what transpired in that one, but I'll likely give BC2's a once over.  Unfortunately, I hear it's a little more serious than the first, which had something to do about gold or something.
