I normally do not mind the ads put up. But this one is annoying. It doesn't wait until my cursor rolls over it to expand. It just expands and lags my system while the pages load. I would use ad blocker but for some reason it is not showing up and allowing me to block it.

I do not know if there is sound since I disabled sounds on my laptop. So much for taking a break from studying.

Yeah it is kind of annoying. I'm on safari so I don't know if there is an ad block program I should be using. Any tips would be nice!

Same here

but those auto expand ads I have seen before, they are the absolute worst ads on the net

I use privoxy to block useless adds. the nice part is that it blocks across all of your browsers. You can also build your own DNS server and use your own HOST file but i don't know if you want to get that complex.

Ah, yea, I have ad block plus and it's not registering for some of the java/flash ones. Oh well, it seems to be gone now. pcktlnt = happy.

OMG, I just got hit with that annoying Halo ad that youre talking about. . SO annoying. It seems that the ads  alternate from  ad that dont slide out, TGIF, and ad that do, Halo.

For those that dont see or experience this ad .

Let me try to explain , the halo ad slide down when you scroll on the advertising spot right next to the search box. Once its slides out it takes a few sec for the close button to appear leaving you staring at the CGI ad. Once close your mouse will still be over section the ad and the ad will then slide out once more Creating a never ending cycle of  pop ups. Its almost like the ad is playing peek-a-boo.

The NoScript addon will take care of javascript and flash.

Thing I like with AdBlockPlus for FireFox is that I can actually allow ads on certain sites I choose to support that way, which default blocking everything else, or *any* site that has the mega-expand type ads ...
