Apparently people are having problems reading text on a SDTV.
I remember having lots of problems reading text on my SDTV in games like Dead Rising; I had to lean forward and squint to make it out.
Developers these days probably figure that most people have HDTVs, so they don't give as much thought to the people who don't own one.

hmm I wonder if that is true. I created a poll lets figure this out.
It made a huge difference on my Wii switching from the RCA cables to Component. Are Component cables considered HDTV? I recall having them on most TVs in the last 10-15 years, and for sure on some that were far from HD.
With a game like Mass Effect and it being such an epic gaming experience, you don't deserve to play it if you don't do HD.

Component cable can transmit HD Signal but if your tv is not HD its not gonna make a difference. 360 has a switch on the component cable to transmit HD. On my old tv when I turned that switch on it just scrambled the signal coz my old tv was not HD.
Although Component is always better than the AV cable it is not HD.
Dead Rising was a horrible game to play on a non HDTV due to tiny text.

I couldn't even play it until I hooked up the 360 to the PC with a VGA cable.
Been HD gaming since 2005, I don't like giant text
Of course, PC is >HD so I voted HD
But the whole text-size thing alters on PC due to sitting much closer to the screen. Was looking at a csreen-show comparison article for Dragon Age and saw a massive text-size difference ...

Here's my humble opinion: If you're gonna play a HD console, then you better have a HDTV.

This is true, unfortunately 85% of console games this gen are actually sub HD :(
(usually like 600pish for big games like Halo3/ CODMW)
Tiberius2:Component video can handle 720p and 1080i
Component also supports 1080p however, many video components will only send video up to 1080i via component video
"Puts up flame shield"Okay, this I've read about this first off, if you are bitching about small text, play Dead Rising on the 360. That. Is small.Second, why would anyone STILL have a SDTV? I've played games on a crappy 19' SDTV for a long time and really couldn't see a damn thing, (Far Cry 2 was a bad example of this) but I now have a 32' HDTV and everything is beautiful. My point is... HDTV's aren't that expensive anymore. As I said, I have a 32' and it's only (I didnt actually buy it lol) about 500$. Even 19' HD's are out there (there is one in the room next to me that looks nice) and even that was... 300$ i think? In all honesty, if you don't have a HDTV in today's world you are probably just cheap. It's maybe 100-150$ more than SD but I believe SD is going down the crapper so to speak.
PS. What the hell are you doing playing 360 games on an SDTV? That's just wrong :PEDIT - And yes, I did beat Dead Rising on that awful 19' SDTV so many years ago...
Your gamerscore probably makes me laugh.
Xbox 360 - Doominatorx6PS3 - Doominatorx6 (NEVER on..ever)Wii - Only play Rabbids games. No point posting it.
