As for importing rather than start a new on Mass Effect 2 there are a lot of little options I want seen caried over too. After all my Mass Effect 2 save will be imported into the third one when it does come out. So I want everything done just right by my standards.
I am, I love this game only problem is I work all the time so I have very little time to actually play it. Oh and I accidentally deleted my ME1 save game. I just had to buy a new hard drive....
Not since OoT have I played a game of this nature that I could see myself playing over and over again wtihout being tired of it.
And as for the not asking questions thing. It's not a huge deal. A quick run of the original would take maybe 10-15 hours. and in my case I have a save right before the last boss, I just don't have the game right now.

Answer later. Playing ME2.

I recently started Mass Effect 1 again, and the difference in gameplay is night and day. The only problem is getting through everything again. Doing all the side missions and what not, then with any luck my play through of Mass Effect will be done for a little bit. Those elevator loading scenes are torture.
You guys had me paranoid. I just loaded up ME2 to make sure my character imported...I was successful, now back to maxing out my character.

I find myself fast skipping through the dialog trees, even for characters I like... and this is my first ME1 playthrough.
I think I'm just burning out on Headshot scenes w/ lots of yapping after playing DAO.
I kinda wish the dialog was an interactive cutscence, not just 2 characters standing still or once in a while using a hand motion.

That is what I really liked about the second one. The interactive talking scenes. Made you really focus and pay attention.
Loved it, one of the best game Ive ever played.

Oh that sounds nice, but I can't touch my copy til I finish ME1 and I do lots of meandering in this game... call me a n00b but I enjoy Mako.
Reminds me of another fav game of yore
I don't know what everyone's big complaint about the Mako was I absolutely loved that thing. Yeah the interactive cutscenes caught me off guard a couple of times and I missed them. Wanting my first play through for fun I didn't redo any of them.
Once I'm done with the this play through of Mass Effect 1 again I still need to play through the second one at least two more times. I know I will play through it a lot more than that but that is the minimum.
Oh and don't listen to what some people say that this isn't an RPG, once you get a little bit into it, it turns into much more of an RPG than you realize at first.
I read faster than they talk, and I'm not here for the interactive movie ... so I HATE that they map 'skip' and 'select' to the SAME BUTTON and you CAN'T change it! Several times I have unwittingly chosen something I didn't want to say, only to have to go back and reload and replay the same movie again to make the choice I wanted ... and none of it is so endearing the second time around ...

Agreed!

Lots of complaints about skip/select to the same button, obviously it's the developers punishing anyone trying to skip :(
