I'm not a PC gamer at all, all the games I've ever played on the PC were from Steam, and that was only one game. So sorry if this is a stupid question, but someone told me this and it made me nervous.
Can you get viruses from used PC games because the person who owned the game before had viruses on their computer? I know, stupid question, but when someone told me this I wanted to double check before i request any PC games here.
No.
Anyone who had viruses on their PC because of a game was playing a pirated version they downloaded from some seedy website.
And there is no way that there will be a virus on the disc of a game?
Think about it. How would a virus get on a retail copy of a game, on a disc thats not rewritable?
Why would a publisher put a virus on one of their game discs?
If it concerns you that much, just use your anti-virus program to scan the disc before you install the game.
Okay thanks. Just wanted to know, I warned you all it would be a stupid question :P

mrkekeru:You have obviously never played a game bundled with Securom or Starforce.
I've played plenty, and I never had a single problem.
I've had plenty of problems. Virtual drives disabled, games don't acknowledge discs properly, saving disabled because games for windows live suddenly shits itself... Granted none of these things would stop me from doing the blackbeard if I wasn't a legitimate customer, and I've had to resort to no-cd cracks and such to get some stuff to run at all.

This.
And don't forget Tages (which is on The Witcher: EE) which crashed my windows 7 pc until I got the updated Tages drivers.

You like to complain about stuff all the time anyway, so I don't take anything you say seriously ever.
