I'm down for some points as well. Never pass this up. :D

When you think about it, it's an awesome deal for Goozex.  Unless you're buying the points to buy new stuff directly from Goozex, they're basically taking your money and not having to give you anything.  They're taking your money and giving you a game from someone else.

Everyone's happy.

Except that it leads to point inflation. Since points are not being added to the system in the form of new games, it means that people have more points to buy things, but the amount of games available remains somewhat the same. Eventually it will lead to keeping point values high, not unlike when the Fed decides to print $44 billion! Either way, I'll partake simply because I'm low on points and more importantly out of tokens.

New games are added into the system every Tuesday. New releases = more goods in the system.

Point inflation argument is old hat. No one has seen truly negative effects from these promotions, even with all the complaining last year.

Plus there will surely be an influx of movies getting posted in the next month or two after everyone that got them with free trades watches them and realized they don't want them anymore and put them back up for trade.

Old users adding new games into the system doesnt really help with inflation since point balances for current users should still remain high.  However the thing that stops inflation is the increase in users.  As more users join the site that means there are more people to spread the points around.  If there are 100 new users joinning the site and they all want to get new releases then they need to get a total of at least 100,000 points.  If no new points were ever introduced into the system then it would be harder for new users to accumulate points since there will be less points to go around per person.  To stop the inflation or deflation of the values of points there needs to be a balance between the number of points in the system and the number of users using the system.  Hence the Goozex exchange and Goozex selling points.  Both of these systems can be used to keep a proper balance of points in the system to keep the system running optimally.

Now whether or not Goozex is keeping the points in check is not for me to know since someone on the outside cant tell if they are doing it properly.  However I can say this Goozex introducing new points into the system is an integral part of keeping Goozex running.  If I can round up some money I might buy some points but I really need trade credits more than I need points.

Both are on sale with the promotion. You can get those combo deals like 1000 pts and 5 tokens.

I might buy some points this time around. I don't really need them, but it will probably encourage me to get games/movies at higher point values rather than waiting for them to go down more. And I'm guessing that the exchange conveniently went down because of this. :)

I'm gonna get the points mainly cause I have a ton of games on my hold list that I just haven't gotten due to not having the points for cause apparently my selling list is balls for most people :(

I know that but I am out of tokens and would like to buy them for half price without having to get so many points.  I really should have picked up a bunch of tokens when they were cheaper.  I should have picked up 120 tokens for $60 but never pulled the trigger on them.  Now I am out and wish they were still that cheap.

Promotions like this help give them a nice cash influx and as long they don't do it too often (I think twice a year is reasonable number) it's not going to have an overly pronounced effect on anything.

Yes its new user growth that is key for the site.  The number doesn't seem to be going up too fast these days (though no idea how many active users there are, surely much lower then the user number).  The trades in progress number hasn't been growing either.

if they keep adding points like this, and don't grow, current users will stop offering games, liquidity will dry up, and that will be it.  The previous sales didn't have any noticeable effect.  hopefully they can keep attracting new users, surely they haven't scratched the surface of the potential yet.

Just realized the Valentine's Deal, and have already made several hints to my wife...LOL. But I do have a question for those who were here last time around.

I am #151 in line for a game, with 35 Actives ahead of me, and 115 Restricted and 429 On hold.

Now will this new point promotion, how likely am I to move back from my  #151 in line when people have the extra points and take their request off hold? That is the only problem I have, and I only have 1000 points right now, and the game is 1000 points. Basically curious if I should just get some smaller games and give up on this one...lol

Tough one for me - I have 5K in points, a number of 1000 pointers on the shelf, and 85 trade credits.   I might actually pass on this deal for the first time since it's been introduced, but it's so tough to pass on cheap points.
