DrJ079:

So what are they planning to do with the trades on these disabled/hijacked accounts?    I have a trade in progress with one of them, who has actually been disabled.    Have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the Goozex handling of this where they disable accounts and leave the users engaged in trades in limbo.

Are we going to have to wait until it gives us a chance to give them negative, and then wait longer on top of that to give the disabled user a chance to dispute, and finally get into the queue to get our points and spot back?    That would be pretty ridiculous.

ghostworld:

Just give them a negative when the option is available.

6 more days on the trade, followed by another 3 days they'll allow a disabled account to dispute, and then another 48-72 hours to get your points back?    Considering we know this is a fake trade and they disabled the account, that just isn't acceptable.

Wow, I guess that is what they expect.  Absolutely terrible customer service, from ignoring these users for as long as they did and letting these trades run rampant through the system to how it's being handled once that happened.    Had they actually payed attention to those users in time, this trade wouldn't have even happened.  Just bad.

Yeah, I'm really annoyed with this because I got matched up for a game with this person on 1/12.  Since the game was allegedly coming from Canada, I didn't think anything of it taking this long until a game I shipped to Canada almost a week later arrived already.  Considering the free trading promotion for college students only lasts till the end of the month, and I SHOULD have received the game during that promo, I feel like Goozex should give me a free token for having to sit through this with my points and queue position in limbo.  Because it's unlikely it will get resolved AND I'll be matched up again in the next 6 days.

Leave a different type of negative.  In the comments state the account was disabled.

I love the sense of entitlement some people have.  Goozex doesnt owe you anything.  You should be happy that they were nice enough to give you free trades.  You shouldnt be bitching about loosing out on one free trade.

Goozex owes you nothing and if it is such a big deal to you go use another site.  Maybe you can use GameTZ or CAG and have no guarantee of getting the games you are trading for.  Or better yet go trade your games in at gamestop.

Ah, thanks.   I wasn't even thinking about using comments and didn't want to leave something inaccurate.    I kind of thought something was up too when this user matched and confirmed and said it was in their mailbox to be picked up at 5:00 PM.    Since they were from Canada, I was wondering how you could fill out a customs form without going to the post office.   I guess the answer is, you can't.  :)

Oh here we go with the cool kids throwing around the "sense of entitlement" argument again.  Can you even make a valid point without using that BS "holier than thou" strategy?  All I said was that because of how long it took Goozex to deal with this hacked account...and the way in which they chose to do it (if I hadn't been proactive about it, would the system have just closed out the trade with a positive?), my points are in limbo for a great duration of this free trading promotion.  I didn't force them to do the promotion.

But the fact stands that I SHOULD have received the game during that promotion.  It would just be a nice gesture (not to mention good customer service) to recognize that their usual stellar service was temporarily disrupted by some idiot, but that they're commitment to long-time members is greater.  Take a PR class and you'll learn why things like this are smart business moves.  It also would have been nice if Goozex had contacted people involved in trades with the hacked account to notify them that all those trades were suspect.  I can understand not just outright cancelling all trades, but at least give everyone a heads up, so they're not figuring all this out with 4 days left to leave feedback on an international trade.  But yeah, feel free to respond with more belligerence and personal attacks.  No need to make an intelligent counter argument.

Well now I'm locking this.  Ironic that the community hijacks a thread about hijacked accounts.  For anyone interested in the resolution of this 'hijacking':  We are in communication with the user via email correspondence.  We are currently receiving further information to assist with our investigation.  We will not discuss accounts with anyone other than the user.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone who may have been involved with this situation, and the moderators are prepared to assist anyone who has questions/concerns.
