Solatso:

Off the top of my head :

  • Tool - Aenima
  • Metallica - And Justice For All
  • Guns 'n Roses - Appetite for Destruction
  • Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet
  • A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms
  • Dr. Dre - The Chronic
  • Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power

I'm sure there's like 20 others or something that I'm missing but this will do for now Yes

I like your style except for the Bon Jovi. I might like Cowboys from hell more then Vulgar Display of Power. wait which has cemetary gates and planet caravan on it

This.

Except I think you are using it to say Oasis sucks.

I think Oasis and Radiohead don't even sound alike.

Yeah, when I saw your list I was like "Did this guy break into my house and search my CD tower?" LOL.  I'm a sucker for 80's rock, I grew up listening to it and it never quite died for me.  Cowboys and Vulgar are really close for me too I just went Vulgar because "Effing Hostile" was what got me into Pantera back in the day so it holds a special spot for me.

They do and they don't. I feel like Muse and Mars Volta are similar with a touch of Radiohead. I like radiohead the best though

I went Cowboys, because like acs, it's got Cowboys and Cemetary Gates.  Vulgar's a close second for me, with Far Beyond and Trendkill rounding out a tie for distant third.

If I had to choose 10 albums, I'd go with:

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Beethovan's Last Night
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Eve and Other Stories
Savatage - Dead Winter Dead
Anna Phoebe - Rise of the Warrior
Savatage - Hall of the Mountain King
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Night Castle
Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue
Evanescence - Fallen
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom
Savatage - Handful or Rain

As you can see, I'm a huge TSO/Savatage fan.

Maskim:

I remember introducing you to that Apartment 26 album, stoud.  That was a good album.  Too bad they weren't able to follow up on it, at all.

Yeah, they really changed their style up quite a bit for the follow up, and it really didn't work. It was interesting, it just didn't work at all. Sometimes I like that stuff though, because it could easily be argued that Silverchair has been making interesting but not really great changes ever since their first album, but I still love all of their stuff.

You introduced me to a lot of stuff to be honest and had a pretty big affect on the kind of music I listen to, even if it doesn't show in the albums I chose. I doubt I'd be nearly as obsessed with 70's and 80's rock/hard rock as I am now if I hadn't heard the stuff you played and snuck into your room to listen to your CDs. Yeah, you totally never knew I did that. I'm so sneaky.
