I've watched There Will Be Blood more times than a man should. It seems like it would be a boring film to your average movie-goer, but I think Daniel Day Lewis does a spectacular job portraying a selfish oil tycoon who loses everyone close to him. So what about you guys? Got a particular film you watch because of the acting alone?
Pretty much anything with Denzel Washington in it to see him act.
I will watch anything with Dustin Hoffman, even his crappy-looking kids movies, because I love Dustin Hoffman.
Same goes for Arnold Schwarzegger, though with him it's slightly different. He makes his movies entertaining.

I guess I continue to be alone in the camp whom think DW is one of the most overrated actors in all of Hollywood. I wouldn't usually say this on the boards because I don't want to start a fight but I was actually taking about this exact thing yesterday. I feel as if Denzel lacks the diversity needed to be a great actor. Every role he is remembered for IMO is the same character with a different name (self-righteous and overconfident). His oscar for training day was won because he played a bad guy...but he was still self-righteous and overconfident.
I'll give a watch to most movies with Ed Norton.

DW beat out Russell Crowe that year with Training Day because they gave it to Crowe the year before for Gladiator when DW should have won for The Hurricane. Merely a give and go like many of the Oscars over the last 10-15 years though the biggest pointless Oscar was finally giving one to Paul Newman for Color of Money, one of his worst films (makes up for not getting it for Cool Hand Luke, one of his best).

Wow...I read the thread title and the first movie that came to mind was Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood. First time I saw it I thought he was amazing, but the movie was so-so. Now that I have seen it 3 or 4 times I enjoy the movie a lot more.
Most porn I'll watch just for the acting....lol.
On a more serious note, Denzel is one of those fellows that gets a near instant 'must watch' flag in this house...though mostly driven by my wife. We'll be going to see that new Eli movie opening day I'm sure.
Personally, I like most things with Bruce Willis and Pitt in them myself, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in any passing film.
