Yeah, this Palin comparison that keeps popping up is stupid.  ZOMG GIRL WITH GLASSES IS PALIN!!!  No one said that when this game was first announced and art was shown.  Oh yeah, cause no one knew who Palin was then ;)

Btw just cause I hate palin doesn't mean I don't like the look of a bigger busted big booty version of her. I mean i totally watched Nalin Palin. Great cinema

I would very much have rather seen a new DMC game, though.  The game may be great, but hair attacks?  Foot guns?  That's just F'ing retarded.  Ok, as dumb as it is, someone could put a gun in their boot..so at least that's plausable, but hair fighting? *facepalm*

 

Precisely why I'm leaning towards Darksiders. Just seemms over the top in a bad way.

Having only played through the demo, I'm going to say that Bayonetta totally looks like a young, hot version of Palin.

It's not just glasses, it's the up do.

Of course Palin didn't create that look, her stylists did.  Those uber expensive rimless glasses have been in fashion for some time.  But Palin gets credit for the look because of her popularity.

However the list of pop culture figures that JPN devs have clearly stolen designs from is painfully long. 

/in before MGS fanbois say "BUT IT's SUPPOSED TO BE A TRIBUTE TO SNAKE PLISKIN!"   It's not just Snake, The Contra (Stalone/Ahnahld) box art,   Tidus = Meg Ryan... the list is huge.

Kinda makes me sad that nobody has talked about Darksiders at all, except for WPNofChoice, and that was only briefly. Well, since nobody else has mentioned the game, I figure I will.

I can't really say anything about Bayonetta, because I only played the demo for maybe a minute. I went through the introduction/tutorial part, started the actual demo, but for some reason I just didn't want to play anymore. I intended to go back and play it again to get a real taste, but I never did.

So the obvious choice for me was Darksiders. I picked it up Tuesday and it's been the only disc in my drive since. I mean, I played the Dark Void demo a couple of times, and a little bit of Shadow Complex, but that's really the only game I've been playing since I got it (except for Planescape: Torment, which is for PC).

Darksiders is really quite hard. I consistently run into challenges that take me multiple times to complete (playing on Apocalyptic). Seems like there's one around every corner. This can be frustrating at times, but Darksiders really is a hell of a lot of fun. The gameworld is visually appealing. It's got screen-tearing, but they'll be patching that soon. Combat is a blast, despite the frustration of sometimes dodging and still getting hammered. The timing for blocks and counters is difficult, especially because you have to be standing still to perform them, but when you pull it off it really saves your health. The game is jam-packed with variety and the action/adventure elements are just plain fun. I'll wrap it up there to keep this post from being too long.

My copy of Darksiders is sitting next to Bayonetta. Just haven't played yet. I'm pretty excited

I was excited for Darksiders.  Then I saw some videos from the gameplay and cutscenes.  Don't ask me what it is, but something about how the character looks and the art style is just so... meh.  I don't care about the game at all now.  When I get it, I get it, but if it takes forever to get to my turn in line, I'm fine with that.

Also, maybe nobody's talked about Darksiders because the thread has nothing to do with darksiders.

Well, the OP DID say "I'm planning on either buying this or Darksiders, which also looks good." So, it has SOMETHING to do with Darksiders. And that's too bad, Maskim. I think you're missing out. Seems kinda shallow to lose all interest in the game because of visuals, but hey, I've probably been guilty of that in the past.

Well, what are you waiting for acsguitar?! Satisfy that excitement! haha
