I'm torn between Dragon Age: Origins, Risen, and Borderlands (all for the PC) I'll probably only end up buying one, at least for awhile, and they all have enjoyable aspects. But I have no idea which one to get. O.O

I've heard a lot of great things about Dragon Age and the gameplay looks great. I played the Risen demo and enjoyed it, seems to have at least a little replayability with the... 'faction' choice. Borderlands looks like it would just be plain fun, especially for co-op. Too many games and not enough money~

Which PC game should I get?

  • Borderlands (40%)
  • Dragon Age: Origins (60%)
  • Risen (0%)

Any reason I should or shouldn't get one of these games? I'm also open to other titles and plan to get Mass Effect and eventually Fallout 3 through Goozex. Already own Oblivion.

EDIT: And the winner is Dragon Age: Origins. Thank you everyone.

Dragon Age...I played thru the entire Borderlands campaign/side quests and found it extremely boring as well as my co-op partner did.

Dragon Age.  Borderlands was a blast and had some great multiplayer but it was too short of a game.  Dragon Age on the other hand is a longer game with more to do and is overall a better game.

Dragon age will keep u much occupied, and it looks much better on PC than the consoles (obviously).

Looks like I'll probably be picking up Dragon Age tomorrow or the next day. But if some votes turn the tide before then, I will consider DA:O's contender.

I'd go against the grain here and say Borderlands.  It really all depends on what kind of games you like.  I loved Borderlands, but I'm much more of a shooter fan than RPG fan.  If you really like RPG's then you should get Dragon Age for sure, but if you like a good mix between a shooter and RPG, then Borderlands would be a better option.  There's not too many games out there like it.

See, this is why I'm torn. I like RPGs and I like FPS, and I don't think I'd like a combination of the two any less. So I'm putting the fate of my next game in the hands of the Goozers. Then I'll pick up the other two when they hit a sale.

Thanks to everyone who has voted so far.

I plan to give it another chance, eventually, but Borderlands got kind of stale for me, fairly quickly.

Alright, ended up ordering Dragon Age Origins due to the extreme amount of support it is getting in this topic. Next on my list is Borderlands and then Risen, eventually.

If it turns out I totally hate the game (doubtful) I can always offer it here and make someone else happy.

Thank you all for helping me decide which game to get. I just hope it gets here around the same time as my shiny new processor does. Cool
