Hey everyone!
I'm fairly new to Goozex and really like the service. However, I didn't receive one of the games I requested, waited until Goozex sent me an email to leave feedback, and then I left a negative feedback. The user PM'ed me shortly afterward and told me that he was snowed in, wouldn't be able to make it to the post office and that I should cancel the trade (he sent the PM on Dec. 27).
I can definitely appreciate weather problems, but he confirmed that he shipped the game on Dec. 16.
What's the correct protocol here? Should I cancel the trade as the use requested or do I let Goozex process the negative feedback?
The user's history is oddly mixed -- most of the time he ships requested games, but there have been four separate occurrences exactly like mine where he simply doesn't ship the game.
If I cancel the trade, does that reflect badly on my account? Also, I feel that the user deserves negative feedback since he claimed to send the game, but didn't. If I cancel the trade, will the negative feedback be lifted?
I know this post is really wordy and I'm sure you've all answered this before, but I really appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance!

Hit him with the negative. He confirmed shipment and didn't even ship out the game.. That right there show's that he is a dishonest person.
If you're feeling nice and agree to cancel the trade, make sure he initiates the trade cancellation. If you initiate it you, will be bumped to the back of the line..
The previous poster is entirely right. I'll also add that such a practice, namely to try to have a trade cancelled rather than negative'd, is becoming increasingly common. Indeed, confirming shipping before sending the game is happening because people want their points early (you get your points at shipping confirmation once you hit a certain feedback score) and unfortunately do not have good practices in terms of actually sending the games, sometimes not sending it at all despite having confirmed shipping, leading to requesting cancellation to avoid having a hit on their feedback score.
I once cancelled the trade rather than left a negative, and a certain time after, the user in question's account was disabled, likely after he pulled this stunt again repeatedly. Cancelling in this kind of situation is harmful to the other traders on the site. Besides, if the game WAS sent, you would get it later anyway and could reverse the negative feedback by e-mailing goozex. So in this case, a negative is a good idea, and definitely the thing to do.
negative, negative, negative, negative and negative. as already stated, he has confirmed shipment without actually mailing it.
I'm just going to reinforce everyone's opinion and say to leave the user a NEGATIVE! The fact that he wants you to initiate the cancel just tells me that's he's an ass. Make sure to mention that when you leave him a negative, so that other users will know how shady this trader works.
Also, keep in mind that the seller clicked confirmed shipping so he cannot cancel. I don't know if the buyer still can but that was one of the recent rule changes, right?
Definitely let him eat that negative.
I agree with everyone here. The seller should receive negative feedback. He probably confirmed the shipment because he had planned to send it out shortly afterward but never got around to it. That isn't your fault. Once he confirmed shipment he should have said something if there was a problem. Being snowed in shouldn't prevent him from contacting you via goozex's messaging system.
WOW! You guys ROCK!
I really appreciate the number of super-quick responses. Also, it's a huge relief to see that everyone seems to have the same opinion on how to handle this situation.
At this point, I'm going to wait for Goozex to process the negative feedback.
Thanks everybody! Have a great New Year!
Sincerely,
