No.
even If Sony and M$ Wii Motion Clones slightly affect Wii sales after a few years of being released, Nintendo will come out with something new/unique like they always do
that will Take Sony/M$ anotther 2-3 years to copy...like they always do.
Wii is already obsolete. I only know of 5 people who ever bought one - 3 sold theirs on CL, 1 raffled it off at work, and 1 still has it sitting at home only to be used once every 2 months or so.

Ok, seeing your sig, avatar, and the general posting ability of a 15 year old nintendo fanboy, your opinion matters why?

His opinion is as valid as yours, if not more so, he owns one. Aside from that, he's right, both other companies are releasing movement controllers, although Sony already has something similar. The Wii sales are starting to decline, it'll be convenient for Sony and Microsoft to point to this and say, "See, O'Doyle Rules!"

Seeing as how I own all 3 systems, my opinion is not in the line of fire. The fact that someone wants to elude to the fact that Sony and MS (Not M$, my god you look like a flipping idiot using that, stop. This isn't 1998.) copies Nintendo multiple times over, throws any opinion having weight right out the window. It's like reading a bad gamefaqs post.

By that rationale, my opinion is just as valid as yours. I have all 3, as well as a few DS/DSi's, heck, even some GBA's, recently sold my GoW PSP, though, I suppose that discredits me. It's also a logical conclusion that they are copying them, at least with the motion controls. I just gave an Xbox this morning, so not that familiar with it yet, although the little people look like Mii's, but Nintendo didn't invent people.
They did invent motion controls for consoles, way back in the PowerGlove era. The end result would have to go back and look at patents, etc, to see when Microsoft and Sony started working on these things, although the Six-Axxis has been there, which is really the same thing, or just as useful I should say. I don't like the movement controls in any game.
cheeznrice:Nintendo seems to have the casual gamer market.
Casual gamers, Pfft.
The Wii will still remain an expensive dust collector in many households. But, to this new found casual market the Wii will still have tons of people using it. Most casual gamers just aren't looking at the Xbox 360 nor the Ps3.
No, I don't think so at all. Funny how Microsoft and Sony said the Wii was a fad, yet it is outselling the 2 almost combined. Now Microsoft and Sony is following Nintendo. xD
Nintendo shouldn't be worried. We all know how the EyeToy ended up, Sega CD, or any other add-ons for that matter. They usually end up failing...horribly.
I think the wii is fine. Its still the top selling next gen console. The ps wand looks okay, but I think natal will fail. Personally I like to have a controller in my hand to play games.

I was going to comment on this, but then I seen the comment was made by a girl/woman. I back down...
I think Wii will definitely have to produce something new if they want more game access in the future. But I don't think the Wii itself is in trouble, many people enjoy it, many wives love it and there are plenty of non hardcore gamers out there that will continue to play the Wii. I own one, mainly for my family not for myself. And Nintendo is the only one that makes Super Mario type games and anything related to Nintendo only games. So Nintendo fans will always keep the Wii around as long as they keep producing games.
Natal I think isn't really something you can compare to the Wii. It is meant for a better gaming experience than just "fun." And when we consider the Wii, that's the main selling point, FUN AND EASY, which is perfect for wives and kids that don't commonly like playing some hardcore games normally found in next gen consoles (am I right? I think so.)
Now if the question is, will Sony and Microsoft be able to utilize their new coming technology as well as Nintendo has, well who knows, but if they play it wrongly, they can easily screw up their prospected market share in the 'motion' community. Personally, I'd rather sit on my fatty arse to play games with least body interaction. I'm tired when I get home from work, I don't want to spend more hours moving around :P
Like a hemroid, this thread is back! I have been reading about Sony's motion controller and apparently they (Sony) are very happy with it and tout that its response time is better than that of the Nintendo Wii's, so I'm interested to see how it all works out. Apparently its paired up with the Playstation Eye and thats how it senses the remote. Also the goofy colors on the top are apparently to offset color backgrounds at people's houses which also help it sense the remote.
Can we play Super Mario Galaxy 2 on an Xbox or a PlayStation?
No?
Then, the Wii's not obsolete.
The end.
