G-Nitro:He's in Canada, it does cost that much.
Yeah thought about that after I posted, didn't put my edit in quick enough
Even so, that kind of broad generalization of DC that it might cost $8 or more may confuse people in the U.S. who don't use DC and if they think it costs that much definitely won't use it.
DC is nice and all, but I just got this from the USPS for a game I sent out yesterday, from Loudon TN.
Your item was accepted at 4:01 PM on October 21, 2009 in JAMAICA, NY 11432. No further information is available for this item.
Now how did I go back in time, travel to Jamaica NY, and send a game? I have no idea.

Ive had messages like that from the USPS before. I think last time I just waited a day and checked again and the correct info was there.
I hear you loud and clear "camel." I just wasted 3 days on two traders that offered the same game they either did not respond to (confirm trade) or didn't have the game in their possession. Goozex needs to start weeding these "non-conformists" out!
shintoki: Well, The last one i ***** about just got banned. He managed to get out about 15-16 games before getting banned. System really needs some work >_>

Just out of curiosity, since I just went through something similar, I went and looked at your trading profile. I noticed that you have 2 negatives received for users who have since been banned. My question is this: if they are now known to be fraudulent traders, why do you still have the negatives on your account? Shouldn't they erase negative feedback from people proven to be given false negatives?
I'm a fan of mandating DC for stateside trades, but what will that really do? Scammers will just enter 67454141864211231 and be done with it.
I'm more of a fan of updating the system so that the G-Team actually has some teeth to their new TOS. Scammers get away with far too much, too easily, for too long. Slapping them down sooner would be best for all.
In other news, the way the thread title was written, I thought the OP was introducing themselves As another deadbeat trader, much to the surprise of us all apparently.

what's the difference between a used game and a brand new one, seconds after you've opened the shrinkwrap?
absolutely nothing (in the case of a good to great seller either on here or elsewhere) except the extra money
perhaps we should go to "previously loved " instead of "used" for all of you who can't see that when it comes to media, you're getting robbed blind buying new - ofc ourse I'm all for other people being impatient and buying new and then getting rid, cause that's where the used come from - so you know knock yourselves out, I'll continue to wait, feel free to get me 3 or 4 games for the same price as 1 for xmas!
agreedagreed:what's the difference between a used game and a brand new one, seconds after you've opened the shrinkwrap?
The only difference is if the game comes with DLC then you know you are getting unused codes and actually receiving the codes. With used you are most likely not going to get those if they originally came with the game.
Pm me your email addy for Lockerz invite have 9 left redemption coming soon
I just got my brother a copy of COD4 through here, arrived just yesterday and he was rather pleased. I didn't go as far as to label it a christmas gift though, just a 'Here, what the hell. Haz some gams.'. I would never blindly send a used gift to someone, and I'd be hard pressed to RELY on a used service for a gift, but if you get the game, examine it and it looks well, why not. I've received many titles via Goozex that were surely gift worthy.
It's no different (and often better than) getting a used title or two at GS with those god awful yellow stickers.
Yeah, I personally would never give a used game as a present. Mainly cause people I do give gifts to I view as important to me, and I know most people would view that as "oh, I'm only good enough for second hand items? I hope you don't feel I'm a second hand person" kinda thing. That and I like for them to have the feeling of something new and in perfect condition as well.
Black Fox Zulu:Making DC mandatory IS a good idea. More people would ship games properly at that point. Clearly you have never bought DC if you think it cost $8 and up to send games.
Black Fox Zulu:How could you use a fake number? Again, this just shows you have never used DC before. What a ridiculous statement.
Black Fox Zulu:A customs slip is more then adequate for proof of sending at that point.
Black Fox Zulu:Maybe not everyone can afford to drop $60 on a new game for someone. Money is tight for a lot of people, and some people are just happy to receive a gift. As a gamer, I wouldn't mind getting a used game for Christmas as opposed to NO game.
Does it really matter why he was getting the game? Attacking the OP for his choice in Christmas gifts is a bit daft. The fact is there's a problem with the system, and it's obvious that there is a significant backlog of complaints that the site can't keep up with banning these people. The best way to curb some of this is mandating delivery confirmation, at least in the US. I understand that it's prohibitively expensive in Canada, but that's not the case here. It never costs me more than $2.00 to ship a game with delivery confirmation, and even though it's a little more expensive, Goozex's label system is great for people that either don't have a PayPal account, or don't want to mess with it. Heck, I'd even go so far to suggest that they make it mandatory to use the label system on the site. That way the scammer can't just enter a random string of numbers to bypass the DC mandate. The DC number would be entered automatically. Sure, it would cost a little more for me to ship my games, but it would be worth the extra $.75 for peace of mind that I'm not going to get scammed.
No matter what they do to solve the problem, someone's not going to like it. It would be better to tweak off a few people and stop the scammers than to continue with the status quo. There's obviously a problem, and they really need to fix it.
Whatever happened to "it's the thought that counts?" If someone gives me a gift, I appreciate the thought that went into it far more than the dollar signs. If you buy a gift on sale, does that imply that the recipient is not worth full price to you?
If you buy something on sale, it's still a new item though, correct? I fail to see that comparison as being valid. And I'm not knocking the OP for wanting to get a used game as a gift, thats why I said that I personally wouldn't do it. If you want to, that's your choice. But I prefer to take the way I feel.
