Anybody else get any promo movies from users where the manufacturer puts a burn mark through the case and the UPC of the item?  This annoys me to no end.  Most of the time, there's barely a scratch on the artwork and the case is what has taken all of the abuse.  Situations like this, I don't even know what kind of feedback to leave.  Personally I feel I should leave a +5 for the damage, but I don't know.
I've gotten my second promo burn item in today.  The first one was brand new and sealed, but with a burn through the case and UPC.  I figured it deserves a tip for being sealed, but a +5 for the damage so I met in the middle with no tip and a +10.  Now I've gotten another one in today that's not sealed, but still has that nice burn in the case which means I need to replace it.  I don't think I'd be as annoyed if the seller told me beforehand that it was a promo with a damaged case, it's that surprise when I open a package and feel that mark on the back that gets to me.

Anybody else getting movies like this?  What kind of feedback are you leaving?  I didn't leave feedback for this one that just came in today, but considering the user is new I'm probably gonna end up just giving a +10 just to be a "nice guy".

Best pic I got with my phone.  it's a burn through the case and artwork to mark the UPC to prevent returns of movies.  It's annoying and something that could easily be prevented by simple communication...

I'm not real sure what you're talking about here.  However, if this is something done by the manufacturer, then I would think you should really leave +10.  That would be like me penalizing someone for sending me a game in one of the flimsy new 360 games cases, because I don't like the case.

These are my thoughts as well, but I also understand why you'd be annoyed JCN.  Quite often a simple PM prior to mailing the product goes a long way.

My thoughts exactly.  I wouldn't be as annoyed if these people told me ahead of time.

I guess this is like stickers on artwork... not the cause of the buyer, but they certainly could've informed the buyer beforehand.  In my eyes, this is not the condition I'm expecting the DVD to be in.  But like I said, I'm probably just gonna give a +10 anyways.

The lowest I would give is a +5 which is still good positive feedback but just note that in comments why you left a +5 as apposed to the +10.

I've heard of holes punched in the UPCs, but not burn marks.

In any case, if you want to leave a +5, that's fine as long as you explain why in the feedback.  I think this warrants a "heads up" about as much as sending a Greatest Hits release does; in other words, not at all.

At least it's better than when they used to drill a hole through the upc and through the entire case like on old psx games.
