My problem with the new terms of use is how they went about doing it, like everything else here, no warning? I'm basically handcuffed until i decide whether or not to click the accept. In my opinion, that's probably not the best way of doing things. Locking users out or restricting access seems a little harsh just to accept "new" terms of use. How about sending an email advising of the new terms of use and that if you don't accept them then you will not be able to continue after x amount of days/hours. Just a thought.
mafafu: agreedagreed:I don't neccessarily like some of the mods all the time, but they seem to be reasonable people. I, for one, am quite unreasonable.

I orginally read this as "reasonable" and was going to take issue with your statement. Upon re-reading it, I'm fine with it.

For Pete's Sake, please name me the websites that have warned you they are updating their TOS. I need to borrow other people's hands and feet to keep count of how many other websites do this exact same thing.
There are other things worth complaining about - new release nights, the lack of exchange updates, blackcoyote's lack of facial hair - but this seems like something that is quite silly to whine about.
Yeah, I have yet to see any website that even really cares about their ToS enough to update it unless its something major, let alone warns anyone about it. All of this stuff is basic stuff, and all of it was in position before this "update". I wouldn't even call it an update. It should have just been called a "reminder". But then again people would have still freaked out and acted like the site is gonna magically ban them for doing stuff that would have got then banned a week ago.
Most Terms of Use simply include a provision that they may be updated at any time, with or without notice to you, and that by using the website you consent to the updates. Frankly, the fact they notified us of the change is a huge compliment to the transparency exhibited here.
There are plenty of much more expensive services that lock you out until you accept new terms of service.
Pretty much all massive online games (EA is especially bad with these on their sports titles which aren't even MMO's) do it.
