How do the games on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection hold up?
Are the graphics exactly the same or have they been enhanced any? Are there any new features besides trophies? Also, what does it look like widescreen; are there just black bars on the side?

They are the same as before, with an optional (ugly) smoothing filter that doesn't help. It's just an emulator.
The only new features are trophies, a couple of arcade games, and a couple of videos.
Widescreen can either be black bars, or zoomed in with a bit of stretching and a bit of cutting off the top and bottom.
I thought it was awesome but I am an emulation geek. If you don't like emulators on PC you won't like this.
I played a game on the NES called Pinball Quest with my cousins when they used to live in Jersey. Ever since then, I had been wondering what the name of the game was and trying to find it. I found it quite a few years ago when I had a nostalgia wave pass over me and decided to purchase and play some old NES games. Besides Pinball Quest, I also purchased Maniac Mansion which I had previously rented, and I went back and played Zelda II because I never finished it since I liked the original's top down to the sequel's side view.
When I played the games again, I realized that Pinball Quest is horrible in so many ways, Maniac Mansion is still awesome, and although I still don't like the side view in Zelda II, the game was still enjoyable.
The emulation is good, the graphics are somewhat enhanced ( you can toggle the enhancement features), and the widescreen presentation looks OK.
However, a LOT of these games do not hold up well. They were not nearly as fun as I remembered.
This game collection was the very reason I started trading on Goozex; fun for a few minutes but wears itself out quickly.
The game that didn't hold up for me was Parappa the Rapper. I remember coming home everyday, ready to dive into a new song multiple times, ready to recite the lyrics, beat, the whole shebang. Tried it about a year or so ago - hated every second of it. I think the modern music games spoiled me.

I think it comes down to what kind of game it is. I went back and played all my old school RPG's and loved them: Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Legend of Dragoon, and Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, and X. Those games will never get old because they're based on the story and how it makes you feel. Shooter games, however, are based on graphics and multiplayer. Old shooters look their age, and its hard to find someone to play with.
P.S. = Wouldn't it be awesome if they made a sequel to Chrono Cross? It's about time!
Ill tell you tonight. I will have Lords of Magic in the mail when I get home. One of my favorite RTS of all time. I'm hoping I dont ruin my love of the game by playing it now. I tend to think itll stand up to the test of time though.

I don't quite know what you're talking about.
If it's the yellow highlighter thing, blame Skype.
edit:
Looks like it was a FF update.
