Top Five Original IP Games of 2009?

So, here's an interesting question: What are your top five "new series" games of 2009? Can't be sequels, prequels, side-stories, alternate viewpoints, re-use of an old character already used in games (Hi, Batman!), etc.

Mine would probably be:

1. Brütal Legend
2. Borderlands
3. Dragon Age: Origins
4. Shadow Complex
5. Demon's Souls

I posted Shadow Complex because while it is loosely based on a book, it is a new video game IP. The Maw was a close 6th.

I just started playing Borderlands over the weekend co-op with my brother and while it is a fun game it is waaaaaaaay overhyped.  There is no story to the game and the missions you are given are fairly repetitive so far.  The RPG aspect to the game is pretty neat.

I spent so much time with Fallout 3 a year ago and if that had co-op I would've much preferred it to Borderlands.  Trying not to be a Negative Nancy.

All said Borderlands is a very solid IP.

I can't think of any IP of this year that i've played and been blown away buy.  All my GOTY's have been sequels.  The one's that people have been listed I have yet had the chance to play, don't want to buy any games with cash so just waiting to get the points here and availability in the queue.

To make a good IP we need not only something that is a great game, but lends itself to making money in the future, from more games and/or other products and marketing.  Other wise, we've just got a good game, not a valuable IP worth investing in.

1. Demon's Souls-  Not only is the game great, but with the way it's done, there's so much opportunity for sequels.  You could have a futuristic or modern Demon's Souls with guns when the Old One reawakens; you could look at the viewpoint of if the player succumbed to The Old One and the world is engulfed in the fog; etc.

2. Dragon's Age- Another blight down the road?  Already explained in the game that blights are an unending cycle, and why.

3. Borderlands

4. inFamous

5. I don't know.  Certainly there were more new IPs that could be put here, but I can't think of any that wowed me so much I'd scramble at a second game.  If we can go back to the end of last year, I'd have to say Left 4 Dead.
